Me and my parents came to eat here a couple weeks ago, and the food and service was so awful that we walked out without eating or paying (which we've never ever done before). First off, the restaurant was not that busy. Several tables were finishing up and walking out as we arrived, so the restaurant was definitely not at full capacity. We waited over an hour for our COLD food to get to the table, we weren't provided with silverware to eat it with (or plates to eat our appetizer), and my mom waited 20 minutes for a refill on her Pepsi. To make matters worse, we were a table of 3 who ordered pretty basic stuff like buffalo wings and chicken strips. There was a table of 4 behind my parents who came in 10 minutes after us, and they were served before us. Then there was a table of 6-8 behind me, who also came in after us, and they were ALSO served before us. Our waitress told us that our food would be right out several times, but it wasn't until the 3rd time that it actually came. When it finally arrived, we asked the waitress for silverware, and she said she'd be right back with it. We wait...and no silverware, so we ask another waitress passing by who says she'll be right back with it...and still, no silverware. When our waitress finally makes it back around to us on her way to another party who just walked in, with SILVERWARE IN HER HAND, she says "Oh, you guys probably need silverware too!" Then she proceeds to take the silverware to that other table that's just been seated instead of giving it to us! That's when we walked out. All the food was cold, and my parent's fries tasted like they'd been reheated in a microwave a couple of times. I've worked in the food industry myself, both fast food and restaurants, and I get that the job can be difficult, but there is absolutely no excuse for the crappy service we received. We walked out and went to Wendy's after, and the service was much better. Also, it kinda seemed like the waiters were more preoccupied with serving the people at the bar instead of the...
Read moreWe were party of 4. My husband, granddaughters & myself. Waiter came to the table to get our drink order which was 2 teas & 2 dr pepper. He returned & we placed our order. Once our order was placed we were 45 to 50 minutes getting our food. Waiter never checked on us after taking the order. Waiter bought the food to the table. We didn't have any silverware to eat with. I pointed out we needed silverware. Bought it back with napkins. Never returned to the table to refill our drinks or ask if we wanted anything else. My granddaughters & I ordered the same 8 oz sirlion. They ordered medium rare & I ordered medium. The steaks were not cooked the way we ordered. None of them were the same size. They were dry & tough. The macaroni & cheese was barely warm. The mashed potatoes were barely warm as well. My husband ordered the 8oz bourbon sirloin. It was dry & tough. None of the food was hot. My granddaughter bought up the bill for our food on the table handheld & it was $ 99.95. We paid at the table & left. As our waiter was MIA. Needless to say we will not return to eat at Applebee's. My husband & I both have worked in the restaurant business. Both fast food & sit down dining. In our time, such service would not have left a tip & a complaint would've been filed. I would not recommend...
Read morePulled into Applebee’s during a beach road trip, expecting a casual, reliable meal after driving 8 hours. I ordered traditional bone-in wings and a beer. Five minutes later, the bartender came back and told me they only had six wings. I said, “No problem, just finish the rest with boneless.” Simple request—or so I thought.
Ten minutes later, she brings out one plate with six bone-in wings and a full separate order of boneless wings, says nothing, and walks away.
The food? Mediocre at best. The wings were barely warm, and the boneless pieces were dry and just lazily tossed in sauce—completely unappetizing. When the bill came, there was a $6 discount, but I was still charged for two appetizers. When I asked, the bartender blamed it on a “communication problem” and offered to discount it further.
But after a long day on the road, I didn’t have the time or patience to argue. I just paid the bill and left a 15% tip. In hindsight, I should’ve pushed for a proper adjustment—because what I got wasn’t right.
The service was sub-par, the food was not good, and the price was far too high for what I received. The inside of the restaurant looked decent, but the men’s bathroom smelled like urine—definitely didn’t help the experience.
Applebee’s completely missed the mark this visit....
