The original review below was from 3 months ago. Was it taken into consideration as they stated? Nope! Same thing continues to happen. I provided feedback online. Will anything change? Not holding my breath, but white there's life, there's hope! Happy New Year everyone, and thank you to those who make the effort: you know who you are and we want you to know that we know you do your best and that we truly appreciate your service and effort! --- Here's my last feedback provided online this afternoon: ... "There are some employees that truly make an effort to serve clients right in spite of being treated poorly and under paid, but overall, Bob Evans' service is subpar! The number of times that orders are wrong, incomplete, not found in the system, etc., is just appalling. I could give specific examples, but I'm sure they'll fall in deaf ears! But here's one, just as an example; no two slices of banana bread are the same; sometimes they are large, from the middle of the bread, sometimes so small (from the ends) that by weight, they are tte equivalent of ONE slice from the middle of the bread. How difficult can it be to be fair to your clients, and make portions identical? From the middle of the bread, two slices are fine. From the end? Make it a generous three small slices! By weight, your clients will be getting a decent serving both times. Wrong orders!? Yeah... Ok... Occasionally can be acceptable, because to err is human, but not this often. And what about the missing sauces? One order, with one item, and something is missing? That's mind boggling!" ... This review is for the Bob Evans in Elkins, WV. The atmosphere is OK, the service is fine, the staff tries their best to be helpful and polite, but I don't go to a restaurant to socialize with the staff or sit around and enjoy the ambiance; I go to a restaurant, or I order take out, for the food, and the food is MEDIOCRE, at best, if not (often!) plain bad! Don't be fooled by the nice pictures of their plates and servings that you see on the web! The food is anything but that! The servings are also much smaller. They are stingy. Ask for anything that comes with banana bread on the side and you might, just might get lucky and get two nice slices from the middle of the cake... most of the time (in my experience 4 out of 5 orders) you get a couple of slices from the beginning of the cake, that don't even make up for a single decent slice! Do they have the decency of giving you 3 slices instead of two, because they are so much smaller? NOPE! It's just simply not worth the money most of the time. It's convenient because it's close by and we got used to it, but I am gonna start patronizing another restaurant. THUMBS DOWN Bob Evans!...
Read moreI am a regular at this Bob Evans usually at least once a week my wife and I visit. I visited this store on the morning of 1/13/24 with my wife and another couple. To be honest the service and the food were all great as usual. My wife went up to pay our bill while I sat at the table and talked with the other couple we met for breakfast. She came back and we visited for a couple minutes until everyone decided we were ready to leave. So we walked up with the other couple and waited while they paid their bill. We left and were followed out the door by an individual who I'm assuming was a manager, I never caught his name. Who accused us of not paying for our meal saying that the other couple only paid for 1 ticket for 2 people. So I immediately turned and walked back in the store to show our receipt and explain that my wife had paid 5 minutes before the couple we walked out with. He walked over to the computer and said "oh he didn't close out the ticket, my mistake" and while I was trying to stop him to talk to him he walked away from us and disappeared into the back. You could say that "my mistake" was a very poor excuse for an apology (which we never received and actual apology) and were quickly disregarded as soon as he realized he was wrong. I'm not trying to make a bigger deal of this than it is but I am not a thief and do not take lightly to being accused of stealing. Never received an apology and were ignored when trying to get his attention. This is unfortunate because again, I frequent this restaurant and really enjoy the food and the servers. After this experience I am determined I will never visit this location again. I do not appreciate being accused of stealing and then not even receive an apology. I have never been treated in a restaurant quite like I was this morning. We will find another place to...
Read moreI was not super impressed with my breakfast this morning at this location. The wait time for a table was much longer than expected and they seemed terribly understaffed. The one girl working the tables (that I could tell) was stretched pretty thin, but also maybe wasn't good under pressure. She seated everyone as soon as I think she may have been able, though there were plenty of empty tables and booths all over the restaurant. It seems like some of the other servers could've helped with seating, but what do I know? I ordered a coffee and a water. The coffee was exactly fine. A little water for my tastes, but good enough. Then we put in our food orders. I ordered the biscuit value meal that's supposed to be an open biscuit with gravy, shredded sausage, cheddar, and an egg on it. With home fries. When it came out it was lukewarm at best, but after waiting 20 minutes after ordering for it, I ate it anyway. I've had worse, but I'd like to get my food warm maybe? The potatoes were cold towards the middles and my biscuit was definitively cool at the edges. Like I said, I ate it anyways because I was hungry and on a time crunch. But gees. I noticed halfway through my quick meal (most of the potatoes were inedible) that the cutlery were super overused and kind of icky from being washed so much. I assume it was drying spots, because that happens...but maybe it's time for an upgrade? Eh. All in all it wasn't really worth the $9 I paid, but it also wasn't NOT worth it? I'm not sure what I'm expecting. I get food service as an industry, and it's really tough, but I also get wanting to get in and get out with a good meal when you're on the road (which I am). There just could've been a middle ground here I think. It was a...
