Mawa House — Restaurant in Westborough

Was highly recommended by some folks so visited this place and what disappointment. Guess the recommendations were mainly for the pastries and pastries were okay. I would rate pastries 3.5 on a scale of 5. We also ordered their menu items dahi poori, vada pav, kathi roll, samosa chat , patties and couple of shakes. This was the worst food wrt to preparation, quality and taste. Dahi poori were soggy when it was served to us, literally soggy and had barely any crunch with a very sad filling. Samosa chat sucked equally, chhole on it had no flavor. Vada pav was edible but would give that 2.5 on a 5. Worst thing on the menu was kathi roll. See the picture attached. This was some all purpose flour bread filled with potatoes and that's it. Had no onion slices, dressings, spices and other markers of kathi roll. Literally a joke in the name of kathi roll. Should take it out of the menu instead of making a mockery of the dish. It seemed like same potato mixture was filled inside the samosa, kathi roll and patties (possibly inside dahi poori) with no change of spices/preparing style?? To top it off, it all tasted stale/old with a hint of oil tasting rancid. Sheer disappointment for $80 bill. This didn't even meet the basic food standards. May come here for pastries but never for...

06Nov2023 Today I have been there for some Samosas and The Girl who is at the Register is so Arrogant and so adamant to move from where she stood and she told it would take 20 Minutes to just give samosas. I am not sure how she even got selected to work for a food store where she has to face customers. No words to describe her arrogance and the way she treats customers. One day I called to order a cake and requested if they can deliver in 2 days and if they can please accommodate and this GIRL has answered the call and she was so Rude & said to me if you really want you should have some sense to order way before. Such an Arrogant Lady and she can never do well if she carries the same attitude. Leave about Food and it’s taste as Food is unavailable all the time. It’s her attitude which makes it worst place to visit again.

2years Before: One day, I had to stop at this place for some Indian pastries. The display ones were so well structured and looks so fresh. So, I ordered Pineapple Pastries. I don't know from where he took, they were stale pastries and had a disgusting taste in abnormal shape, he smartly packed in a opaque packing box.

I have visited this restaurant twice in this week as a friend of mine suggested the samosa tastes really good here. But I never got to taste one so far. Whenever we ask for it, the attending lady replies it would take 20-30 minutes to prepare.! Once I said I would come back in a hour and ordered what I need, after one hour she said we got a catering order and have no samosa left. She asked to wait for another 20 minutes. We visited again today to see if they have samosa. Again same 20 minute reply. Really.!!! 20 minutes for samosa every time after you order.?

Also the same lady wouldn't come and help you immediately. You may have to wait at-least 2-3 minutes near the register for her to take care of you. She’s either on personal phone calls or performing other chores. She’s always adamant in her replies. Also always impatient and mouths words on your back. Her attitude is not at all welcoming. This is the last time I would visit this store. I travel from LA to Boston often and this restaurant wouldn’t be on my list anymore.

I would give ‘0’ stars for the service and another ‘0’ for food...
