We were really excited to try this place -- we drive by it often, but hadn't stopped yet. The reviews were excellent, so we went in with high expectations. There was a young woman behind the counter who was extremely friendly -- but then a middle-aged woman took our order, and the friendliness left. Now, we're people who try to spread smiles, so we gave her our best friendly warmth, but we almost felt like she wanted us to leave. Our whole party felt the same way, so it wasn't just me. Now, I totally understand that we all have bad days -- someone's cat might have died this morning, or worse. But that's the time to leave customer relations to a staff member who's in a better mood. That initial impression does a lot to create an opinion about a place, but we tried to be open-minded, especially because reviews had said good things about the food. But sadly, the food was just as uninspiring. My breakfast bowl was served in a plastic container, even though we were eating in. And the food itself felt "Sysco" -- no added touches to make it feel like something special. No one else in our party was able to finish their breakfast sandwiches, as they just tasted "blah".
The seating was beautiful, with large glass windows, and the puff donut was delicious, and the younger woman behind the counter had a ready smile and friendly attitude (a smile and friendly words do SO much to make a place feel welcoming) -- those were the redeeming elements of our experience. But with so many places serving locally grown food, paying attention to sustainable practices, and greeting you with a smile and warmth, this sadly won't be a place we'll be returning to. It definitely feels strange that our experience contrasted so strongly with the positive reviews...
Read moreI absolutely love Daily Brew! Living only a few blocks away makes it insanely difficult to not spend all my money on coffee. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, the staff are always friendly, and the coffee is simply the best. Their delicious bakery items, made fresh in their new bakery, are a must-try. Plus, the sausage breakfast sandwiches and Brew Burgers feature local meats, making them incredibly tasty. The cute gift shop items scattered around the coffee shop add an extra charm. Whether it’s for a morning pick-me-up, a midday break, or a relaxing evening, Daily Brew never disappoints. I would come here every single day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I was rich. Highly recommend this gem to anyone...
Read moreI love the coffee I get here. My staple is a white chocolate Americano with heavy cream. They fill the cup to the brim! Most places skimp on the amount, not here. Plus, it's right along my milk route so it's usually nice and convenient (the obnoxious construction makes it a little trickier with a big truck right now...
