We love this place. The burgers are creative and always tasty. I'm a big fan of a fried egg on a burger. The sides are always very good. Great french fries and one of the few places you can get fries gravy and cheese, it's not an everyday side dish but it's so good when we do order a plate. The atmosphere is a bit unique, because it's a restaurant in a boat yard, but it's really enjoyable inside the restaurant. And I always enjoy checking out the boats on the river. My wife and I stopped recently for a quick salad, We have been married 28 years, so we make a point of not talking to each other when we are out. We have noted the behavior of older couples and made sure we follow suit. No talking, no eye contact, and absolutely no touching of any sort. We are only allowed to engage the wait staff for ordering purposes. We have to break our own rules each time we go to the B&B. Last time, we both commented on the freshness or our Oak Street Wedge and Oak Street Salad. So very good. The bar is modestly stocked but with most of the common high end bottles and they have a very nice draft and bottle selection. The staff is always polite and timely and the food always looks nice on the plate and is prepared well. We have been about six times and we have never been disappointed. The place closes early so if you're going for dinner check the schedule. For Lunch there aren't many that do it as well. Breakfast is a rarity for me but I have stopped there twice. I always do eggs and a side, always good always very...
Read moreI don't get a chance to eat out as much as I would like to. That's mostly due to budget restrictions. So when I do go out, Im drawn to places that I KNOW I'm going to have a positive experience. That's the category B&B is in. Nestled in a Westerly marina, the exterior is full of nautical reminders. As you drive in you are greated by a parking lot of white seashells. Parking just a few feet from the river, where the the white hulled weekender's are lined up waiting for their next seafaring adventure! Inside you will find a clean, modest dinning room, with natural wood floors, that can get noisey. The walls are appointed in a melange of 20th century Americana. The colour scheme and atmoshere is fun, yet calming. As always the well experienced host and waitstaff indulged our every desire with punctual excellence. The fare is delicious, appropriately apportioned and locally sourced. Known as the "best burger in Westerly", some other mentions of note are the "Barbe-cuban," and the chili made with the chefs own fresh garden Jalapenos(heat). It is a little pricey but comparative to the area. So, if you know you're eating out and you know you want a good food at a good price in a relaxed environment. Then YOU KNOW you can go to B&B Dockside!...
Read moreWe don't live locally but we come to this part of Connecticut once a summer. We stumbled upon B&B Dockside last year, and we made a point of returning this year. Both times we have had excellent service, delicious food, and a wonderful time sitting outside and relaxing. The staff is consistently polite, attentive, and happy. We started with the fried pickles last year and got them again this visit - piping hot, crispy and tasty. Our burgers - because there's nothing better than sitting outside with a burger and a beer - were perfectly prepared and a nice size. We had a standard Oak Burger, a "Fun Guy" (mushrooms and Swiss), and a Pitmaster (topped with BBQ pork and cheddar) and all three were fabulous. Personally, I recommend the fresh potato chips, but the fries were just as yummy. If you are in the area and looking for a place to relax with a burger and a drink, this is the spot you want. Just don't forget the fried pickles! Thanks to everyone at B&B Dockside, and we'll see you on...
