I was passing through the Westerly and was craving a salad, so I thought I'd give PizzaPlace a try. I ordered a small chopped salad. Let me start by saying I'm not a fan of gorgonzola or mushrooms, but I let it be. I swapped out the chicken for a scoop of tuna (which I generally don't order tuna from anywhere out, as I'm very particular). The salad was OUTSTANDING. 10/10. The Tuna was fresh, the gorgonzola and mushroom tasted delish with all the other salad elements and I did not even need dressing! The small salad is huge, and I got halfway through and was completely satisfied and full. In addition, the staff was so friendly and professional. The woman at the register was extremely nice and gave me some tips about local shops in the area. The gentlemen making the order were also very friendly and greeted me upon walking and. The restaurant was spotless. I would 10 out of 10 recommend The Pizza Place; and will absolutely be returning next time I'm...
Read moreA little more upscale than the regular pizza places. The 100 year old building is loaded with charm and the interior is all brick wall. Taylor Swift was spotted here when she was still new in town. I had the home-made pasta faggioli with garlic knots (always a winner) and my guest had the mushroom ravioli. UPDATE I went back three weeks later to get some more pasta faggioli to go. They gave me the bottom of the pot and there was no pasta in my pasta faggioli! They should have 86'd it rather than sell it as is. Total disappointment. Other than that little oversight, the place is usually pretty good. Continue reading original review below.
You get your choice of pasta sauce and my guest chose the vodka sauce. Beer and wine are on the menu as well as Perrier, soda and pink lemonade. They have enormous hot and cold grinders (delicious), great salads including a great chopped salad, and of course, a wide...
Read moreGood atmosphere. It felt clean and happy. We had a great server. I loved the open pizza-creation area. Prices felt a little high, but servings were generous. We've noticed restaurant prices are a little higher in Westerly than other places, probably because of the touristy element to the area. Our garlic knots were really small and while tasty, I would not order again. $2.50 would be a more reasonable price for the knots. My husband got the Hawaiian pizza. It had a great crust and good flavors on top. Not too much sauce or cheese. I ordered the chicken parmesan. It had generous chicken pieces, but the sauce was a little watery. It collected at the bottom of the dish and made the chicken soggy. The salad that came with it was very good, and was easily large enough for two people. If we go back we will get just one pizza and order a side salad...
