GENJIGO — Restaurant in Westerville

I was surprised when then I was told to pick 1 vegetable!! So I got 1 chicken and zucchini and 1 chicken and mushroom.

I asked if this was because I ordered the kids meal and was told "No, you get choice of" so I see all these bowls and am wondering if people really spend $20 per bowl to add more vegetables???

The person waiting on seemed par for the course - high school kid, he did say have a good night, so that was good. Not exceptional- either way.

I was there at Noon and no one was eating inside. I passed someone getting takeout 🥡 on my way in.

The taste was good, 3 or 4 slivers of carrots and a teaspoon of egg in the fried rice. The yum yum sauce was okay- not as good as most hibachi places but good.

Most of the dish was rice. It was a try for us which is why we got the kids meal portion. (No drink included). Overall, I'm glad we didn't spend more. I am not sure I would return on a regular basis, which is sad because they could really corner the market- but with Lucky House diagonally across the parking lot from them- we can split a family meal for the same cost and get and egg roll, shrimp toast and crab Rangoon, and the same meat portion with more vegetables and fried rice that had more...

This is a new place and I always want to try a great new place however this didn't really live up to my hopes. A few things so yes it is very fast I would even say Hibachi express. The customization is great also but the chicken was extremely dry and overcooked not juicy from a regular Hibachi. If I didn't have sauce I wouldn't have liked it. That's not the case with regular Hibachi. Now the prices for a single Chicken bowel of $10 is a good price but I would have liked fresh ingredients as advertised. I also didn't really love the flavor of the fried rice. I may try steamed next time and steak. It is filling and the atmosphere is nice. The only reason why this isn't 5 stars is the flavor and freshness of the food since that's the purpose for everyone's visit that's priority. So I ordered a kids bowl because I wasn't very hungry. Asked for two veggies onion and zucchini, worker said I can't get two but I can have a side, that was fine so I agreed. He rang me up for the same topping twice, not a big deal however when I went to get it fixed he made me prove it…. I never left the building, he rang up the wrong items what can I “prove” then I have to hear him recount how he heard zucchini and was dismissive of his own mistake. “I just need to see the bowl.” like what? I can show you but the tone was very mean. Anyways food was so mid I lost my appetite after that rude encounter. 0/10....
