My family and I are in town for a lacrosse tournament (June 28th) and were looking for a place to get ice cream. With all the big chains around (DQ, Culver’s, etc) we decided to support a small business. We arrived an hour before closing with customers still plentiful. We researched online and found elaborate milkshakes that my 4 kids were all very excited for. We walked up and attempted to order one and were told “we can’t make that” by a young lady. I assumed there was a problem with something so it was no bother, a little disappointed, but we got cones and all was well. I walked outside and someone was eating one of the milkshakes. I walked in and asked “why is it you could not make the milkshake”. To which she said “thats what my manager told me”. The other gentleman was great. He said he had no idea what she was talking about and even offered to make me one. The girl asked if I wanted to speak to the manager, and I said sure, since you are offering. The manager came out and said she had no idea what she is talking about, and again offered to make us a shake for free, to which I declined (4 kids with double ice cream can never turn out well).
I expressed that it was disappointing. The manager was great, the other employee was great. However, I believe people need to be held accountable for their actions, and I can not stand laziness. We will not return and...

The key lime pie slice on the Caribbean Cay was really good with a thick graham cracker crust. The shake itself was heavy on the lime. It was good with the whip cream, but once the whipped cream ran out, it was hard to finish. The other two shakes were perfect. The right amount of sugar to keep our kids bouncing around for the rest of the day, lol.
It took a while to get the shakes, so make sure you have a bit of time to spare when you visit. Other than that,...
Read moreWent to the ice cream shop where my husband and I got two single scoop cones served by Landon who was super sweet. He mentioned he tries to make sure things stay clean for guests so nothing gets sticky because they don’t like that, it was fun interacting with him because we could tell he wanted guests to have a good experience. He had the happiest attitude I’ve seen from a teenager at work and I made sure to let the manager Josh know he was doing a great job! Highly recommend the ice cream shop, it’s been a while since I’ve found such a good amaretto flavored ice cream (Traverse City Cherry Fudge), but the service was by far...
