My wife and I went to Mill's Tavern for our anniversary. The food was excellent, and the service was laudable. We had filet mignon, halibut, asparagus and Brussel sprout sides, and the Caesar salad - nothing from their raw bar. However, within 3 hours we began to experience symptoms of food poisoning, largely severe gastrointestinal distress, that evolved in violent illness for 48 hours. We let the restaurant know. When they got back to us, they were extremely dismissive. In particular, we were told that we likely already had a stomach bug -- despite us being with 25 family members that week, none of whom developed any symptoms. Their explanation that most food-borne illness takes "over 24 hours" to develop is wrong, as my PhD microbiologist wife (who worked in the food industry for over a decade) pointed out and as anyone who has traveled internationally can attest to. Management did not offer us anything, and even had the audacity to conclude the phone conversation by expressing their hope that we'd dine with them again (we will not).
In sum, we were extremely disappointed in the dismissive attitude and unprofessional approach of the management of Mill's Tavern. We will not be dining...
Read moreThis place is the worst. Normally I love supporting local businesses but I feel like I have to advise the public not to go to a place with such a rude staff. My husband and I would go here all the time because we lived down the street. The last time we visited I ordered a burger and it had hard chunks of bone or something in it- not okay. The staff didnât even offer to replace my meal when I had barely eaten off my plate. Thatâs not even the worst â we decided to give it another shot because we had had a few great meals there. I should have known better. The server spilled a drink all over my lap and when I had to ASK for someone to do something about it the server got very rude and in my faced and blamed it on the fact that they were busy. Yes, they were busy⌠but that had nothing to do with the server spilling all over my lap. Eating out is 50% for the food and 50% for the experience and this experience was awful. Save yourself the hassle and go...
Read moreWe were a party of 6 having lunch for my birthday. My steak was awesome, everyone's burgers were just right and the chicken fingers were great. The steak fries were served hot as well as the awesome onion rings. The only issue we had was the order for Reuben egg rolls. It was on the "regular menu" section, not the appetizer section. It was definitely not meant to be a meal and should have been on the appetizers list. My son in law had the Reuben egg rolls and they came out hot but on a small plate with no sides offered. He enjoyed the egg rolls ok but still was very disappointed with the lack of clarity in what he was actually ordering. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch but want the owners to know this really should...
