I live in Arizona, and this is the third Mexican food restaurant I went to in Indiana. The first 2 restaurants were pretty good chains. The food at Caboās was very bad representation of Mexican food or any kind of restaurant food. The chips were good. The sauce was less than mild tomato sauce. The beans wouldāve been better straight out of the can, but these were so watered down that they made an 8th inch high lake on my plate and they were barely warm, about 85°F. The Chile Relleno was cooked with Jack cheese inside, but the egg covering was barely an 8 inch thick. Uncharacteristically it was covered with enchilada sauce, and no cheese or other treatment. It was the poorest example of a chili Relleno I had ever witnessed. The enchilada sauce that covered the two enchiladas was strange shade of red, kinda like a chipotle sauce. Seem to have a little sweetness in there. The shredded chicken and shredded beef and enchiladas had some spice with the meat, but it was hardly apparent and there was zero cheese inside or on top. The food was an insult to the people of Mexico and the Hispanics in America, for the food, as my wife put it, āwas grossā . The service was good and the dining room was a nice environment. Ā Ā Ā Read moreDaughter wanted Taco Bell, but husband and I wanted ābetterā Mexican. We took daughter through the drive-thru and dropped her off at home and off we went to have a nice dinner. Well, we were wrong. Had to ask for queso twice and it came out luke warm and chunky. We had to request it to be heated. Next, my dinner was chicken instead beef and my husbands rice was cold to the touch. His dinner was all chicken instead of chicken, steak and pork and was very hot in the middle but cool on the outside. Husband left all of it uneaten on the side of the table. After our waiter finally returned to our table after at least ten minutes, We requested a correction of my meal as well as his rice to be heated up. I did get the correct meal and it was ok, but the rice was obviously microwaved and completely dried out. We tried to let the next waiter that came by know, but he ignored us. Then they sent another waiter to ask if we were done and sent yet another guy with our bill. No apologies were given even for my totally incorrect meal or any of the other issues and no offer to take anything off of our bill. Needless to say, we should of went with the Doritos Locos Supreme...
