Customer service is everything. You can have good food and an atmosphere HGTV would be proud of but poor customer service will ruin all of that. My husband and I rarely get date nights out, we have two small boys and we were thrilled to have a sitter for the evening. We had made a reservation at 101 North a couple days in advance for 6:45pm PST on a Saturday evening. I knew we would be leaving a theatre and coming to them right after so I asked what their policy was and they said they would hold a table for 15 mins. Day of our car service ran about 5-10 mins late picking us up and I called the restaurant, I say I'm so sorry we will miss the 15 minute window, what is the wait like? The hostess said "You're fine, we will have a table for you. I got you". Now keep in mind if they said we are slammed and you'll need to wait 45 mins or so we would have completely understood, visited another time and ate somewhere near the theatre. Instead we trusted them and headed over. We got there around 7:05pm. The hostess tells me "I'm sorry we had to give your table away but you two are next should be about 5 mins". I totally understood and didn't mind waiting. I noticed a couple was sat a few minutes later and then another couple came in shook the hands of what is likely the manager and they were sat immediately. Ok so he has some clients I'm sure we are still next. Nope.. hand shake after handshake and two more couples were sat and we are now about 45 mins in to waiting. We were over waiting at this point and approached again and was told the same thing, "Oh you are next". I wasn't buying it that time. The man shaking hands came up and tried to tell me "oh you probably didn't know who was ahead of you", like I'm some idiot. I've grown up in this town and seen plenty of restaurants come and go. There's nothing special about this one and they should be careful how they treat their customers if they want to stay in business long. Once word gets out how rude they are no amount of fiddle leaf trees and feasting style tables will keep them in business. Here in this area we are accustomed to being treated nicely because we are nice too. We won't be coming back here and I'll make it a point to share my review with everyone I know and after growing up here that's a pretty big crowd that will be turned off by dining here. I encourage the manager to enroll his staff in customer service training they clearly missed the mark in a very bad way. Don't waste your...
Read moreWent this past Friday for happy at the bar. It did not disappoint. Food was great, service was great, and the prices were more than reasonable. Between the three of us we each had 9 total drinks, short rib sliders, fries, and a margarita pizza. The bill was $95 and I don't think we'll be going anywhere else for happy for a while. I just wish they would open for sunday breakfast again...
Edit on 11/14/22. Went this past Thursday for happy hour with friends and it was on point once again. The food was great and the staff was great as always. I didn't catch the bartender's name but he was helpful and offered great alternatives to our normal drink choices. I think our servers name was Bridgett and see was also fantastic. Just wanted to say thanks for making it a great night.
Edit on 8/4/2024: Went yesterday for a few drinks and some bar food. It's a little pricey and the pizzas are kind of ridiculous with how thin the crust is. 20 bucks for that small of a pizza with very sparse toppings was disappointing. And now they are only open 3 days a week. Not sure how they are making it and i wish they were open...
Read moreThis place is absolutely fantastic! The food was amazing and the vibe was perfect. We also had excellent service during our dining experience. I particularly enjoyed the fact that once any of our plates were used (and we ordered many dishes) a server would exchange our used plates for a clean one what seemed to be almost immediately.
Starting with the drinks, I had an orange redemption and I loved it! I tried the smoked margarita and I know tequila drinkers will love that.
Moving to the food, the pomodoro sauce for the meatball appetizer was INSANE! The yellowtail tartar and the little gem salad were both perfect. We also ordered the grilled spanish octopus which was unbelievably tasty. I highly recommend that dish. Our party ordered two pizzas: the Bianca and the Picante. These were the best pizzas I have had in a long time. The thin crust makes you feel a lot less guilty about the fact that you are eating pizza!! For the main dish we split the Bolognese. This was delicious as well.
We did not have room for dessert but we will be back soon!! Westlake needed a place...
