“Treat others how you like to be treated” Golden rule and mission statement of Four Seasons corporation. To start it off the entire stay at the property was estelar and out of this world. Beginning with pool and spa which I highly recommend for disconnecting and treating yourself to a true 5 star pampering experience. A major highlight was getting served by Jo as my pool server, a proper unique human being! She’s funny she’s energetic, and extremely charismatic. In general the entire pool team was always 2 steps ahead. If I got up to move an umbrella somebody would be there to help me out. At the gym, Rob made my day! I tried both the yoga and functional class. Upon realizing that nobody would show for group functional training, Rob personally trained me and was quick to adapt to my needs, wants, and fitness goals. Rob is a true gentleman with an extraordinary personality. Lastly at dinner we had the pleasure of dining at Candor and we were served by Eddie and assisted by a young lady whom was in training but I could not tell! Both Eddie and the girl were extremely hospitable, quick to give recommendations and exceptionally friendly and warm. I believe Eddie is from Puerto Rico and once we found this out he was connecting with my mother about the island, the beautiful beaches and culture as a whole. Lastly, Betty Flores (manager at Coin and candor). Met her at FS Costa Rica then she jumped to Beverly Wilshire and now she’s here! What an epic human being. Glad she is here supporting this team and continues to elevate herself and the rest of the people around her. I will be back because of her! 20/10 on the entire experience, everyone mentioned above truly lived up to the golden rule, but what made it most spectacular is that they were able to shine through the corporate structure and share with my family and myself a bit of their unique selves. In my opinion that is what sets anybody working in service industry apart; doing your job to the best of your ability is one thing, but to have fun and let your genuine self be expressed in the little details is what will make you...
Read moreThis was our second time at Coin & Candor (for dinner), and we won't be going back for a while. This is just a review for their dinner service; we occasionally go for brunch and find that to be a much better meal.
The fresh bread is always amazing, the forbidden rice is a textual & flavor wonderland, and the drinks were tasty and relatively strong.
But beyond that, the meal was actually pretty bad. My wife's chicken was overcooked and bone dry. My "wagyu" strip was incredibly tough and had practically no intramuscular marbling. I've had plenty of wagyu steaks in the past few years (even a few that were from this particular ranch, Snake River Farms), and whatever they served me definitely wasn't wagyu or any variant of it; the cut was probably choice. I ordered it medium, because generally a super fatty cut like wagyu tends to need a little more temp to render all that fat (normally I would go for a medium rare), but it was served closer to well done. We also got a side of the cabbage, which was a complete disaster. It was acrid, bitter, and burnt tasting without having any real flavor profile to speak of. Our server was also very mediocre, but the rest of the service staff was really great, so I'm not docking an additional star for that.
Overall, when I'm spending nearly $300 on two drinks and a meal, there are a million better places to do it. Sure, this was better than fast food, but for the price I'd rather go to Moody Rooster or any number of similar joints where you can get amazing food for...
Read moreQuick Summary Recommend patio dining for them wonderful views. The food, service, and ambiance were simply splendid. Definitely order the house-milled bread; it was truly memorable. Self parking is provided
Food- 5 stars Pretzel bread- this was so good. Highly recommend to get at least one of the breads. The pretzel bread had the most variety of flavors of the breads
Pan de bono- the bread and butter were phenomenal. Basic flavors but so so good
Baja California red snapper- very good and the chimichurri sauce made sure every bite was delicious. There were some dry spots because it was grilled on the woodfire, but the chimichurri and condiments made it fantastic
Really nice rice- very good as well. They intentionally overcooked a few rice pieces to add some extra crunch. Pretty interesting dish
Pulpo and beans- this was good, but probably the least memorable dish. If you like pulpo and rich, heavy flavors, it's great. But the other dishes mentioned above were better
Service- 5 stars Phenomenal service from our service. Very accommodating without being too overbearing. It is the Four Seasons after all
Ambiance/Value- 5 stars A bit on the pricier side, but with the quality of the food, the large portions, and the impeccable service and ambiance, everything was well worth it
Bottom Line Solid spot for a nice lunch or dinner with a great view. Definitely try the bread and red snapper. And opt for patio...
