7/16/2025 Had a terrific lunch at Lure Fish House in Westlake Village today. Makayla, Matt, Thomas and the GM David took wonderful care of us. The ambiance is always so positive and uplifting and the staff is kind and loving. We started with drinks and bread and then appetizers. My wife had a special Don Julio margarita with serranos, lime and mint and I had an ice tea. The appetizers were charbroiled oysters and new England clamping chowder. Makayla checked on us regularly and then we ordered our entrees. My wife had the grilled fish tacos and I had the fish and chips. The tacos came out a bit too cooked and the GM David came out to apologize and made it right. We took an order of tacos home. The customer service is stellar and it was very nice meeting David a true professional. Thanks to Mayayla, Matt, Thomas and David our dining experience was fantastic! Highly recommended.

6/28/2025 What an amazing lunch today at our favorite restaurant in Westlake Village, Lure Fish House. We were seated by the lovely hostess as a nice Hightop. Makela was our amazing server. Makela was kind, professional and efficient. The ambiance was quite peaceful and positive. We started with drinks and their famous charbroiled oysters. Nobody does it better than Lure. We also visited with Sean, Adrianna and Gabe and what amazing people. We enjoyed our visit. We also met one of the managers, Daniel, and he was so kind, professional and you can tell that all of these individuals love their Lure positions and place value and love in their customers. The bread was nice and warm, right out of the oven. Makela took our entree orders with my wife selecting the grilled Rockfish Tacos and I had the tequilla lime shrimp pasta. My wife ordered a grilled artichoke to go. Everything was simply the best and our time was enjoyable as well. Highly recommended

6/26/2025 Had an amazing dinner this evening at Lure Fish House. Diego welcomed us and took us to a nice booth in the bar area and then cleaned our table and brought us menus. What a terrific individual with stellar customer service skills. Marley was our server and what an All Star. Marley had an amazing personality and stellar customer service skills. We started with drinks and bread. My wife had the skinny Margarita and I had a diet soda. For our entrees my wife had the Sea Bass skewers with the grilled artichoke and I had the halibut entree with spinach and the parmesean potato cake. Amazing food and amazing service. Highly recommended.

6/13/2025 A wonderful dinner tonight at Lure Fish House in Westlake Village. The host and hostess were welcoming and friendly. We sat at a lovely booth and were greeted by our lovely and efficient sever, Cortni. We started with drinks and bread. Cortni was friendly and professional and checked on us regularly. We started with drinks and charbroiled oysters. Yummy. The ambiance was hopping and positive as it was happy hour. We ordered entrees with my wife having the grilled fish tacos with Brussel sprouts and I had the hanger steak with mushrooms and spinach. Highly recommended

5/31/2025 Another fantastic dining experience at Lure in Westlake Village today. Sara Adrianna was our amazing server and was professional, attentive and kind. The ambiance was nice and serene and the food, service and people stellar. We also had a quick chat with Sean another amazing server whom we see on occasion when dining there. We started with tequilla cocktails and charbroiled oysters. Oh so good! My wife ordered 2 orders of sea bass skewers and I had the tequilla lime pasta. Top shelf customer service, food, drinks and peeps. Highly recommended.

5/3/2025 Had an amazing dinner at Lure on Saturday night. We sat at the bar and Faith and Ashlyn, twins, we're simply amazing servers and so kind. We started with our favorite Don Julio Blanco with club soda and three limes muddled with mint and an order of charbroiled oysters. Yummy. We then ordered our main entrees. We arrived for a stay at the nearby Residence Inn road-weary and hungry. The Lure Fish House looked like a great place to get a nice meal. It had an inviting appearance and was busy. So busy that we had to wait 40 minutes to be seated, understandable on night with crowds. After we were seated we waited 12 minutes for our server to appear to inquire about drinks. Her first words were "we're sorry, but we are out of bread." Apparently a basket of bread is usually delivered. We said, OK, and asked for water and a lemonade, and since we had studied the menu while waiting for our table, we ordered our entrees, Shrimp Brochette ($25) with pineapple coleslaw and parmesan potato as sides and Rockfish Veracruz, which came with beans rice and avocado, and she disappeared. Since we had given my phone number to be notified when our table was ready, 15 minutes after being seated I got a text asking if everything was going OK. I responded "no" to the text, because of the long wait. In a couple of minutes a manager appeared, and inquired about my response. I started to explain my dissatisfaction at the long wait for drinks, and being told that there was no bread basket. Just then the server returned to with two glasses of water, saying that they were out of lemonade. I pointed this additional negative experience to the manager. She said sorry and that she would try to expedite our entrees and retreated. A few minutes later, a server brought our entrees. We were very hungry by now, but not so much as to forgive what was presented to us. My wife's meal was total disaster: the shrimp were slightly overcooked and therefore chewy, arrived lukewarm, not hot, and were tasteless. The cabbage of the coleslaw was tough, like it had been allowed to dry out, and the pineapple flavoring was obviously from a can, not fresh, and had a tinny taste, like it sat in the can too long. The potato cake was simply a patty of refried mashed potatoes, burned on the bottom. I have to say the my rockfish was delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked, served hot. The beans and rice that came with it were unremarkable. In the meantime, we noticed that the recently arrived guests across the aisle were presented a bread basket soon after being seated. The server said that that the manager wanted to give us a free desert because there was no bread basket and no lemonade. After finishing our meal, we ordered the blueberry cobbler, which was tasty. We signaled that we were ready for the check. When the check arrived it included $4.50 for the lemonade $9 for desert! I protested to the server and she returned with another check with those charges reversed. We were highly disappointed with the meal and management. The server herself did the best she could. The place looked promising, but it did not deliver a quality dining...

Disclaimer: Grading on a curve—A Covid Curve.

The hostess, Ashley was phenomenal and went the extra mile. She was thoughtful and anticipated needs. She took ownership every step of the way. I called her to find out if gift cards could be used for online orders. I called and she took the time to find out and took my order over the phone during her lunch rush. I appreciate her. If it wasn’t for her customer service and dedication, I would have given my restaurant experience 2 stars.

CRISPY CALAMARI Tasty but not served at a food safe temperature. Some pieces were cold and some warm. If it was served hot and fresh, it’s an amazing dish and the dipping sauces were tasty.

CAESAR SALAD with anchovies Was a major disappointment because of the dressing. It seems like a vegan version with nutritional yeast and no raw egg. It had a decent flavor but it didn’t coat the lettuce well and was blah.

GARLIC BREAD Yummy! Just the way I like it. Side order—only 1 slice. No charge.

CLAM CHOWDER I was not impressed. I’m not a fan of bacon and cheese in my clam chowder or having more potatoes than clams. There needs to be balance between vegetables, clams and the creamy broth. The broth was creamy but there was not enough substance. It reminded me of a bisque more than chowder—too creamy for my liking. Bread or crackers are needed to dip in the broth. Best chowders I’ve had are in Seattle and Pismo Beach.

The Covid-Curve grading is because the restaurant was understaffed and there were issues with service and food temps but the staff was positive, compassionate and helpful.

I called in my order at 1:35pm and said I’d pick it up at 2:30pm. I arrived on time and waited about 20-25 mins for my order to be fulfilled properly. My first wait was 15 mins and then another 10 mins to bring out 2 forgotten items. My job location is 5 mins away.

I don’t have the heart to give them 1 or 2 stars because of COVID and what the BOH staff are probably enduring. I paid with a gift card and didn’t feel so bad about the poor food delivery. Under normal conditions, the food (calamari) would be satisfying. I know not to order the...

Lure Fish House reeled us in and impressed with a dazzling experience—a sumptuous meal, refreshing drinks, and tremendous service. As delightful as the food was getting to know our server and bartender Brittney, who has worked at Lure for many years, and is well respected in the Westlake community. We started our meal with cocktails, a roasted blueberry basil margarita for and the Lure Sangria for (made to order—Sean’s was a white sangria with peach purée, raspberries, and roasted blueberries). Sean loves raw oysters and was impressed with the freshness of the Kumamoto oysters from Baja California. I prefer oysters baked. Lure’s charbroiled Evening Cove oysters from British Columbia with parmesan were addictive. We also enjoyed a colorful ceviche with a variety of seafood, and a highlight was the miso glazed sea bass skewers—which combine sweet and savory and smoky flavors. Make sure to order that appetizer! For our main course, we enjoyed shrimp tacos, lobster ravioli, and Sally’s sand dabs. Served with a choice of sides (we chose sweet potatoes and brussels sprouts), the wild caught sand dabs were delicious in Lure’s lemon caper sauce. Our favorite was the lobster ravioli. Lure provides a generous portion, baked to perfection. Nestled between Los Angeles and Ventura, Lure Fish House is a great place to stop for dinner when visiting the area or passing through. It was a lovely day trip for us through the Malibu canyons from the coastal chill to the relative warmth of the valley. The restaurant is spacious and is a lovely spot for a date night that can also accommodate larger parties. There’s a lovely patio area with both water and fire features. We enjoyed hanging out at the bar after dinner and got to meet some of the locals who were very friendly.

We recently had a very good dinner at the Lure Fish House on Russell Ranch Rd. This seems like a great seafood restaurant in the Westlake Village area. Opening hours are 11.30-9.30pm. We dined around 7.30pm midweek. The restaurant was rather full up but they were able to accommodate us upon arrival which was nice. Seating area is attractive, tables spaced out just enough so that the noise from other parties doesn't interrupt conversation at our table. Menu is that of a traditional seafood restaurant with a fair selection of fresh fish and shellfish selections. During our meal, we started with a Ceviche that was quite tasty. The Lure House version of ceviche is dry and served in a dip bowl along with tortilla chips. The raw fish was mixed well with avocados, tomatoes and other ingredients and had a nice zesty flavour. It was a large serving as well, easily enough for 2-3 people. For mains we had the blackened redfish that was very good. The fillet was seasoned perfectly, buttered and tasted very fresh. The parmesan potato cake and spinach sides were also very good. We additionally had the Mahi Mahi with slaw and quinoa salad. Again, fresh fish, well grilled and complemented by good sides - a must enjoyable course. We finished off our meal with a slice of Key Lime pie that went down well after a great seafood dinner. Overall, we were very pleased with our meal at the Lure Fish House. This is the sort of place we would dine at from time to time if we lived nearby. Really good job, guys!
