7/16/2025 Had a terrific lunch at Lure Fish House in Westlake Village today. Makayla, Matt, Thomas and the GM David took wonderful care of us. The ambiance is always so positive and uplifting and the staff is kind and loving. We started with drinks and bread and then appetizers. My wife had a special Don Julio margarita with serranos, lime and mint and I had an ice tea. The appetizers were charbroiled oysters and new England clamping chowder. Makayla checked on us regularly and then we ordered our entrees. My wife had the grilled fish tacos and I had the fish and chips. The tacos came out a bit too cooked and the GM David came out to apologize and made it right. We took an order of tacos home. The customer service is stellar and it was very nice meeting David a true professional. Thanks to Mayayla, Matt, Thomas and David our dining experience was fantastic! Highly recommended.
6/28/2025 What an amazing lunch today at our favorite restaurant in Westlake Village, Lure Fish House. We were seated by the lovely hostess as a nice Hightop. Makela was our amazing server. Makela was kind, professional and efficient. The ambiance was quite peaceful and positive. We started with drinks and their famous charbroiled oysters. Nobody does it better than Lure. We also visited with Sean, Adrianna and Gabe and what amazing people. We enjoyed our visit. We also met one of the managers, Daniel, and he was so kind, professional and you can tell that all of these individuals love their Lure positions and place value and love in their customers. The bread was nice and warm, right out of the oven. Makela took our entree orders with my wife selecting the grilled Rockfish Tacos and I had the tequilla lime shrimp pasta. My wife ordered a grilled artichoke to go. Everything was simply the best and our time was enjoyable as well. Highly recommended

Read moreWe arrived for a stay at the nearby Residence Inn road-weary and hungry. The Lure Fish House looked like a great place to get a nice meal. It had an inviting appearance and was busy. So busy that we had to wait 40 minutes to be seated, understandable on night with crowds. After we were seated we waited 12 minutes for our server to appear to inquire about drinks. Her first words were "we're sorry, but we are out of bread." Apparently a basket of bread is usually delivered. We said, OK, and asked for water and a lemonade, and since we had studied the menu while waiting for our table, we ordered our entrees, Shrimp Brochette ($25) with pineapple coleslaw and parmesan potato as sides and Rockfish Veracruz, which came with beans rice and avocado, and she disappeared. Since we had given my phone number to be notified when our table was ready, 15 minutes after being seated I got a text asking if everything was going OK. I responded "no" to the text, because of the long wait. In a couple of minutes a manager appeared, and inquired about my response. I started to explain my dissatisfaction at the long wait for drinks, and being told that there was no bread basket. Just then the server returned to with two glasses of water, saying that they were out of lemonade. I pointed this additional negative experience to the manager. She said sorry and that she would try to expedite our entrees and retreated. A few minutes later, a server brought our entrees. We were very hungry by now, but not so much as to forgive what was presented to us. My wife's meal was total disaster: the shrimp were slightly overcooked and therefore chewy, arrived lukewarm, not hot, and were tasteless. The cabbage of the coleslaw was tough, like it had been allowed to dry out, and the pineapple flavoring was obviously from a can, not fresh, and had a tinny taste, like it sat in the can too long. The potato cake was simply a patty of refried mashed potatoes, burned on the bottom. I have to say the my rockfish was delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked, served hot. The beans and rice that came with it were unremarkable. In the meantime, we noticed that the recently arrived guests across the aisle were presented a bread basket soon after being seated. The server said that that the manager wanted to give us a free desert because there was no bread basket and no lemonade. After finishing our meal, we ordered the blueberry cobbler, which was tasty. We signaled that we were ready for the check. When the check arrived it included $4.50 for the lemonade $9 for desert! I protested to the server and she returned with another check with those charges reversed. We were highly disappointed with the meal and management. The server herself did the best she could. The place looked promising, but it did not deliver a quality dining...

The hostess, Ashley was phenomenal and went the extra mile. She was thoughtful and anticipated needs. She took ownership every step of the way. I called her to find out if gift cards could be used for online orders. I called and she took the time to find out and took my order over the phone during her lunch rush. I appreciate her. If it wasn’t for her customer service and dedication, I would have given my restaurant experience 2 stars.
CRISPY CALAMARI Tasty but not served at a food safe temperature. Some pieces were cold and some warm. If it was served hot and fresh, it’s an amazing dish and the dipping sauces were tasty.
CAESAR SALAD with anchovies Was a major disappointment because of the dressing. It seems like a vegan version with nutritional yeast and no raw egg. It had a decent flavor but it didn’t coat the lettuce well and was blah.
GARLIC BREAD Yummy! Just the way I like it. Side order—only 1 slice. No charge.
CLAM CHOWDER I was not impressed. I’m not a fan of bacon and cheese in my clam chowder or having more potatoes than clams. There needs to be balance between vegetables, clams and the creamy broth. The broth was creamy but there was not enough substance. It reminded me of a bisque more than chowder—too creamy for my liking. Bread or crackers are needed to dip in the broth. Best chowders I’ve had are in Seattle and Pismo Beach.
The Covid-Curve grading is because the restaurant was understaffed and there were issues with service and food temps but the staff was positive, compassionate and helpful.
I called in my order at 1:35pm and said I’d pick it up at 2:30pm. I arrived on time and waited about 20-25 mins for my order to be fulfilled properly. My first wait was 15 mins and then another 10 mins to bring out 2 forgotten items. My job location is 5 mins away.
I don’t have the heart to give them 1 or 2 stars because of COVID and what the BOH staff are probably enduring. I paid with a gift card and didn’t feel so bad about the poor food delivery. Under normal conditions, the food (calamari) would be satisfying. I know not to order the...
