Phenomenal service and food!!! First time here and we loved it!! Definitely recommend! Our family can’t thank Anae and Jennifer enough for the level of excellence and hospitality we experienced. We were a party of about 15 who gathered in Baton Rouge for the untimely passing of an aunt. Since we’re rarely in state together we decided to try for dinner. We knew it was a long shot to accommodate us with such short notice. I called one restaurant and they didn’t take same day group reservations, 80-90% had to be there to be seated, etc., etc. A friend suggested this restaurant. I called and got Anae (hope I’m spelling correctly). Told her our situation, she asked me to hold a sec., came back and said if we’re sure we’re coming she’ll make it work for us. She called in a team member to accommodate our party size and her name is Jennifer. She’s absolutely the best and speaking for our entire party; it’s sad that every customer driven business doesn’t have a Jennifer. She’s sweet spirited, genuine, great personality, personable, engaging, knows the food and menu to the T, she answered every single question/need and she didn’t mind taking pics of our group. I could go on about Jennifer and I haven’t even gotten to the fresh - delicious food!!! We were pleasantly surprised how quickly the food came out and all together. The taste, quality, portions and options were beyond our expectations!!! I had the Seafood Plate and will get it again and again!! Fried shrimp, oysters, were fresh and seasoned to perfection! Crab cake and sweet potato fries were excellent!!! It’s a dinner and restaurant our family will forever remember, not only because we dined together for the first time in years, but also because Anae was human and considerate enough to accommodate us! Today we patronized Lagniappe Steak and Seafood new location. We had three doctor's appointments today. We were famished and had an hour to get lunch before last appointment at 1:00 and stop at this restaurant at 11:50. Unfortunately, the service was subpar. Our waitress failed to clean our dirty seat, was inattentive, and didn't return to take our order. Despite the inviting ambiance, the poor service detracted from our experience. We left without being served, and the host's concern wasn't enough to make up for the delay. My advice to the manager is to ensure that wait staff understand that time sensitivity is crucial for certain patrons and that inattentiveness is an unprofessional trait that should not be tolerated. The waitress's inattentiveness and subpar service detracted from the ambiance and hindered a potentially enjoyable food dining experience. We encourage this establishment to hire dedicated employees who are committed to providing quality service, rather than those who approach their duties with a lackadaisical attitude. Although our experience was disappointing, we acknowledge that it may have been an isolated incident and would not discourage others from patronizing this establishment. Our experience was, however, quite distressing.

Where do I start. The hostesses were all facing different directions and not one was facing the door. The ceiling was dripping and there were no wet floor signs. Almost slipped but grabbed my wife's arm before I could fall. When we sat down I immediately noticed a dead roach in the corner of the booth. Went to the bathroom to discard it and saw YET ANOTHER ROACH crawling on the paper towel dispenser. Could barely stand in the bathroom for more than 30 seconds due to the reek of urine. Our server's BO was yet another issue I didn't have the decency to mention or call out. Food was mediocre at best. Wife ordered the grouper cocodrie and I had the fried seafood plate. Grouper must have had only been seasoned with plain butter and a squeeze of lemon, explaining its lack of nuance. All the while my platter was cold, tough, and may as well been from the frozen isle. Plate was even garnished with some stuck food grime from the previous diner. Terrible would be an insult to gas station food that this establishment is on the level of. Hopefully our 21st anniversary will be better than our 20th. P.S at least they...
