Spirit Halloween — Local services in Baton Rouge

My experience here was absolutely horrific. The funny thing is that it actually has nothing to do with the store itself and everything to do with the black male security guard who I witnessed racially profile two other black women today. Though the security guard was “doing his job” by checking the ladies’ bags as they were leaving, I noticed he was not doing the same thing for other customers. Mind you, the two women came straight from the cash register. The lady stated that she is no thief and then proceeded to ask him why he felt the need to check their bags. He responded with “See…it’s always the black women that have a problem, the white women never have a problem”. This is when my friends and I began to get somewhat involved because we could hear the entire altercation. He then continued to insult the two black women in front of me, and even kept aggressively arguing and walking up on them even outside of the store! So at that point, he was no longer even doing his job. My friend then chimed in and told the man that he was wrong for what he said. He then looked at my friend and said, “I was not talking to you so you can mind your business” I am absolutely appalled that Spirit Halloween would let someone like this be affiliated with the company. His remarks were extremely offensive not only to the two black women he targeted, but me and my friends who witnessed it all as well. So, if you do not want to risk getting racially profiled and aggressively argued with by the misogynistic security guard who picks and chooses who’s bags he wants to check, maybe don’t go to this...

Rude employees! Waiting on hold right now to complain to their corporate office! Don’t bother shopping here! Lazy employees that won’t open the door when I walked out literally 5 minutes ago and all I want to do is exchange the same costume for a smaller size real quick because they don’t do exchanges and they refuse to open the door when I’ve spent $$$$ in there! Never again!!!!!!! Don’t waste your time or money! 🤬😡 you don’t treat customers this way! Who has ever heard of a costume store not letting people try on anyway! I should walked out and not bought anything! Lesson learned! Karma to those people! Employees complaining that they want to get off of work too! Be lucky you have a job! Cool place, I would highly recommend this location. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and easy to work with. The store has everything from home decor, to cups, accessories, outfits, animatronics and anything else you would need to fit your Halloween needs. The store is well kept up, stocked, clean and well laid out. Highly recommend this location if you are in the area. If you are not in the area, it is worth the drive. You will not be disappointed.
