The Plantry Cafe — Restaurant in Westminster

I was so excited about my date to this restaurant, had been looking forward to this Valentine's Day with my husband, as he has just come home from working for 1 year out of town.

We were promptly seated but that's the only thing I can comment good on. The food took an astronomical amount of time and while this is a made to order restaurant, this was Valentine's Day and a pre determined menu. The only offerings were water and alcohol, being sober patrons, we asked the waitress about other options, though the refrigerator was in sight, she wasn't sure if the "sodas" and were offered tonight. Finally, we decided one one each, one tea, one soda. I got my soda promptly..but my husband waited 30 mins for his tea and the waitress only realized this after coming back to our table to tell us they were out of the tea he ordered!!! He had to select a new tea and wait longer.

On to the food, I would be absolutely embarrassed to be the owner and have served my guests what we were greeted with tonight. The first course for 2 people were 3 mushrooms each the size of a marble. While I know this was advertised as a " tasting " it was also established as a 3 course meal and the prices should have reflected such! We were licking the spoons for sustenance after we had waited soooo long for just that!!

The second course only got worse from there, the entrees served were vile, absolutely burnt and salty and not palatable at all, basically burnt mushrooms with slop on the side. I was horrified wondering if others in the restaurant were actually enjoying this? I did let my waiter know I wasn't satisfied with my plate to which she asked if I wanted another one or to go box. The only saving grace was the cheesecake tonight and I wouldn't say it's worth the $65 per person we spent. I'm sick over it.

We went to a date night with my husband on Valentine's Day for the first time. We were quite excited to try their vegan options as a couple who tried to cook vegan meals at home for ourselves. Atmosphere and decoration was cozy and smartly designed. It looked like processionally designed. It was a busy night and they offered 3 or 6 courses meal options. We picked the 3 courses option with vine pairing added. Because the 6 courses option was basically the same with an additional cheese plate and another desert. Anyways after waiting quite a bit which is not a problem at all since we were enjoying a night out anyways, we finally started to get the meals started to be served. We were very excited to try as much as we can so we ordered all of the options and shared to taste them all Unfortunately food was really average. Risotto, mushroom with grit, soup and salad were ok but nothing special at all. I am really sorry to write this since I think they have an amazing opportunity here and obviously have a potential. We will definitely come back and try different dishes and hope tonight was an exception due to being a very busy Valentine’s Day :) we wish you guys the best of luck since we would love to have an option like you...

First time guest here and was really looking forward to trying their Valentine’s day 3 course . We were promptly sat and were able to enjoy the water that was at our table . Our server never came to our table and after 30 minutes of waiting I notified the hostess that no one has came to check on us . Finally a server came by and literally just said how may I help you ? I let the server know immediately that we have been sitting there for 30 minutes and that I would love to just have a cup of tea and be served the 3 courses . The server told me that she didn’t know what teas they offered and that she would send someone over to tell us about the teas . 10 more minutes passed by and she came back and said again she didn’t know what teas they had available . So in 40 minutes of waiting , no food , no tea , no manager , no anything . We just left . Beautiful decor , but terrible service . As a new vegan , I left feeling completely disregarded...
