"Where have all the good men gone? At Pho Little Saigon? Where's the Viet-wise Hercules? To eat the steaming pho till it's gone?" - parody of "Holding Out For A Hero", Bonnie Tyler
Formerly Pho Jackie, Pho Little Saigon has been one of my go-to to-go pho places locally. I'm in the shopping plaza regularly, as I'm usually at the 99 Cent Only store in search of good finds. After a brisk shopping spree, I headed to Pho Little Saigon for some soul soothing soup.
#2 House Special Combination Pho, large- With a broth that was light, yet with a distinct taste which I'm unclear as to what it was, the combo pho was nice & plenty in the portion dept. The various cuts of meat were tender & juicy. I always ask for extra bean sprouts, and Pho Little Saigon had no problem fulfilling my request. I was told the wait would be 5 minutes, and my to-go order of pho came out at about the designated time.
Service was good. I asked and was given water to drink while waiting for my order. I saw a container of whey protein behind the register and jokingly asked "How much do you charge for a scoop of whey protein powder in my pho?" Ample seating via handsome bamboo furniture. Flatscreen TV's available for diner's viewing pleasure.
Parking is at the Artesia Town Centre, which can be packed during the prime hours, shared by Bakers & Baristas, Tampopo, Sweetee Thai & other businesses.
With a lot of options for pho around Cerritos/Artesia, Pho Little Saigon shouldn't be overlooked when you're in search of soup or other Vietnamese dish. Prices are competitive, and service is friendly & hospitable. With a 5 minutes turn around for pho, customers can quickly get in & out when pressed for time. During my next visit, I might just dine in & try one of their highly regarded rice dishes, ending my meal with a refreshing smoothie or 3 bean drink.

Read moreI made a horrible mistake coming here a few day ago since there is another pho place in the same shopping center.
The place was empty execept 1 full table of a family. I should have turn aroud and run out then but stupid me just wanted to give it a try.
Even with mostly empty table, the waiter sat me on the table right next to the restroom. Really? Because I came there alone so I wouldnt mind the stench coming from there?
After bringing me the water and the menu. The waiter basically stood there as if I already know what to order right away. I asked for a few minutes to look at the menu. He then realized how awkward the situation was. Even then, all he did was turning around leaning on the next table with the writting pad and pen on his hands. At this point, I really questioned myself whether I should order aome random thing on the menu or continue to figure out a good dish.
So the food came out, the noodle was stale, dry, and very very little. I ordered a plate with shrimp with it came out without even a shell. But to their credit, the food was swallowable.
As I sat their eating, since it was also close to the kitchen, all I could hear was people yelling at each other in the back mixing with some lound pop songs on the speakers. The vibe here guarantees that you will dig through your food quickly.
Needless to say, I left quickly and went to the next door store to buy some additional food to eat. The noodle was...

My nephew suggested this place for our family dinner. Think Anthony Bourdain would love this if he was alive. I ordered the oxtail pho. It was qa substantial dinner. A large bowl of fresh (vs. dried) pho noodles with a delicious, rich beef broth, topped with generous sprinkling of cilantro, white and green onions. There were 3 chunks of oxtail: two large and 1 small. The meat was sufficiently tender yet stayed intact on the bone. It was delightful.
The accompanying herbs were ample, green and fresh. There was a generous supply of lime sections. The bean sprouts comprised solely the white stalks of the mung bean sprouts, which is a rarely seen premium. All the ingredients used are high quality. The condiments (hoisin and chili sauces) are at out of the bottle thicknesses, not watered down.
I also had a sample of the wagyu beef pho. It was delicious. The beef was very tender and flavorful. 😋 😋 😋
Service was prompt and friendly.
Ambiance is nicer than the usual pho restaurant, well appointed with the main theme color, a nod to its name (a play on the Thai energy drink). I liked the quiet, relaxing jazz music which played throughout our meal.
The restaurant charges a 20% mandatory tip for groups of 6 or more. All tips goes to the staff.
I would return to try other dishes and recommend...
