Renato's Restaurant and Catering — Restaurant in Westminster

I'ze born/raised & work(ed) in Orange County, All over out & about & eat pizza all the time, everywhere, this place is solid good, & I rate their Lasagna the best I ever had (#1 in the county)! As for pizza, the best in about a 4 mile radius & only UGO's many years ago was a lil' better in the area, but they are gone. I give Al's NY café on 17th & Irvine In Costa Mesa the best Sausage Sandwich award but Renato's is pretty good/ top notch too, say they flip flop 1st & 2nd place in those two categories, Renato's pizza is better than Lynne Perry's pizza, that is pretty good too. I don't see how anyone can be disappointed in this place it's been around for years for a good reason, Numoro-Uno WAS across the street but (though good) couldn't compete, not being quite as good & a lil' more pricey than Renato's that's a GREAT PRICE !!! if you go by $'per lb. Even GREATER ! Spaghetti & meatball dish good too, all these HOT in Aluminum bowl to go, w/ a really good slice of garlic bread w/ it,. I'm very glad this place is near-by & stayed afloat all these years. :-) I Liked Barros pizza near Diamond bar on Golden Springs dr & Brea blvd. technically in walnut, has the very best Anti-pasta salad. Renato's is ok but a couple steps down from that one, Renato's has lots of meat & really good Italian dressing. Pizzas are big & thick, lots of cheese (Best sausage blend/chunks EVER)! old school sizing... (not like Pizza Huts overrating true size), Renato's Medium i bet weighs twice as much+ than a Pizza Huts "large" I recommend...

We arrived at about 6pm, to a half full Renatos. After meeting our waiter Roberto, (who, by the way has been there for 22yrs) and being sat on the great front patio area, we ordered the house chianti and several apps.

The wine was fruity and paired well with their apps, (clams/stuffed mushrooms/antipasto salad/fried cheese) all of which appeared HANDMADE. All were amazing...And I was skeptical to start !!

Roberto, made some fantastic suggestions, clearly showing off his knowledge of the food, the guests and his personal experience. I was thoroughly impressed with the way the staff all worked together like a well-oiled machine and provided service that was not only perfectly timed, but, made us feel like we were alone and yet catered to by a team of professionals.

We had such a great dining experience, I was tempted to keep this little GEM a secret. But, in all honesty...everyone who loves Italian dish, pizza, and wine of many varieties...needs to stop in and try this place out.

The best part was EVERY PART. I was both shocked and surprised at how they took great care of us. And I'm looking forward to frequenting this harbor of Great Food and Service, until I am able to...

Looks really can be deceiving! The food was fantabulous! I had never heard of the place but my friends used to go all the time. There's a group of us that meet every Tuesday, usually at the same place but occasionally we go somewhere else like this time. A couple of the ladies had been and said it was great. Looking at the place I was wondering! It's in a strip mall and the area looks questionable but you walk through their doors into a whole new world! I'm thinking what is this place doing here but I was surprised to see it start filling up as we began to leave. We usually meet about 3 pm and depart about 5 pm. I found the food to be absolutely delicious and service was very good! It was not a huge place but bigger inside than I thought. Everyone is friendly and the owners made a point of asking how things were, and if everything was ok. I recommend you check this little place out, you won't be sorry if you like Italian food!!!! They will also do take out and catering! Highly recommend this establishment! Oh, and unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try the desserts but they looked delicious and oh so yummy!!!
