Server and hostess were lovely and attentive. Atmosphere cozy and fun. We were unfortunately underwhelmed by the food, which I wish wasn’t the case, because everyone was so nice! Def visit Sen, but I wouldn’t recommend what we chose. Certainly there are better options (with allergies, I was limited, not their fault). We decided on several starters as our meal because they all sounded so exotic on paper, and we like the idea of variety. The vegan soup appetizer was extremely disappointing—frozen corn and peas, seemed overpriced for something so plain, and the yummy two pieces of tofu felt disproportionate, considering how bland the rest of the soup was. Brie cheese with jam was under salted…dang, otherwise this was pretty good and fun to eat. The potato pie with pesto wasn’t as quality as we had hoped! It seemed as if it had been previously frozen, which is understandable I suppose, but the dish just felt flat :/ The grilled oyster mushrooms in the vegan spring roll were certainly tasty, but the dish didn’t compare to the fresh vegan spring rolls that used to be on the menu in previous years. I was sad to see that option gone. The fresh basil in the spring rolls was such a treat though and elevated the flavor, but overall between the roll itself and the dipping sauce, we didn’t find the tastes very satisfying. Several years ago this was my favorite restaurant in RIC, so I was super excited to return, but I noticed a decrease in the overall food quality since then. Perhaps the pho dishes would have given us a different experience. Seems people really enjoy their fresh broth and is what they’re most known for! Most of all, we are grateful for...
Read moreMy husband enjoyed the Pho Tai. He said that the broth was flavorful with a good portion of beef that is tender. He ate the whole bowl. They give you the side of bean sprouts, basil, ngo gai, lime and jalapeno slices. He liked this pho better than the new place called pho flavor
The Banh Da Cua Hai Phong was very delicious and I ate the whole bowl. I loved the scent and taste of the roasted onion, and it was the broth very flavorful. I ate the whole bowl and must've drank half of the bowl.
The Cha Nem has a nice crunch and is not dense inside. The dipping fish sauce is a nice addition but not needed because the Cha nem is already salty enough even when you wrap it in the vegetables.
The Bun Cha Ha Noi is also very delicious with the sauce that it's in. Mixed all of the noodles and vegetables in, then ate it. The meats were seasoned well with good flavor and saltiness.
The coconut coffee was decent. I did not taste much coconut. I got this drink free by writing a Yelp review.
I would recommend this restaurant, and come back again to try...
Read moreCame as a group of 16. We had called ahead because we had such a large group but the place is a little small so we had to wait about 10 minutes which is not bad. The staff did great getting us seated as soon as possible. We took 1/3 of the eating space. I was amazed at how fast our food order came out considering our large group. The food actually came out for those who ordered first while the staff was still taking down the last of our group orders. The food came out hot and delicious. Their #1 dish, Bun Cha Ha Noi, was a little different from ones I had at other places but still very good. Also tried the #2 dish Banh Da Cua Hai Phong. Was going to eat just a little but it was so good I ate it all. Very good reason why those were #1 and #2 in popularity. Also ordered Hu Tieu Tron SEN Kho but could not eat it. Take home is always an option and still good. Each dish is under $20 so price is very reasonable. I would come back when I visit...
