Revised 1/18/23. Adam the owners son called me today to explain the 1% credit card charge for customers using a credit card to pay their bill.
I do understand the reason behind this now. Restaurants are getting slammed just like we are with food costs. They also are running razor thin margins with trying to keep the food costs down as best as possible for the customers all the while not decreasing service, quality or quantity.
On top of these inflationary food costs they have fees to pay the credit card companies in some cases its 4%
Mitchs is mearly trying to offset some of this inflation so they can continue to serve us in the manner in which we are accustomed with the 1% credit card surcharge.
Unfortunately this is a trend in todays economy we are likely to see more of.
Have you seen the cost of a dozen eggs lately?
Now that I understand this a lot better I thought i would share this information and revise my review.
I truly appreciated the phone call from Adam today. Its clear to me they care about their business, employees and their customers.
I will continue to enjoy their delicious food for many years to come. I hope you will too.

What other restaurants in Weston are doing this? Not one that I know of.
I can tell you from anyone I spoke to about this including some staff, they all said this is a big turn-off.
I dislike that you did that as a lot of people will no longer come to eat here. Most people dont carry cash. This is a silly money grab.
Yes its only 1% but the negative psychological impact of this will surely affect your business.
I hope you reconsider this policy as I want to see you flourish. Your a great deli.

My server was Carrie and I’ve never had a worst experience in my life. I was a server/bartender for two years so I totally understand when you’re busy/ in a rush, however she only had two tables other than us(who were above 40+ years old) in which she attended to their every need, however my friend and I (in our 20’s) were treated horrible. Along with another young girl I saw trying to pay her check for 10 minutes next to us as she ignored her. Everytime I tried to order she’d already be walking away before I could finish and I’d have to shout what else I wanted as she continued to walk away from me. Throughout the meal I had to call out for her because she never once checked on us, never had water, took 10 minutes to get syrup because the first time we called her over for it she forgot it and went to her other tables instead. When my friend asked if they had strawberry cream cheese she laughed at her saying they haven’t had it in ten years, and then it took 15 minutes for our bagel to come out when tables next to us kept getting their food (we got a plain bagel with butter and cream cheese on the side, came with no butter). When putting down the French toast on the table I had to grab the plate because it started sliding towards me when she quickly slid it on the table..When asking for the check she took my friends cash and walked around serving other tables for another 5-8 minutes while we waited for our change. Read moreUnfortunately I had a bad experience this morning and will be heading to Bagelicious on 84 from now on. I have been going to Westside several times a week over the course of two years to grab a bagel and drink sometimes a cucumber salad before work. This morning when making payment the "Lovely Server" at the checkout told me that I was not allowed to swipe my Credit/Debit card. When I asked why, she stated that they were not being paid by swipe transactions. Mind you, I worked in the management service industry and I'm also very familiar with their POS System "Toast". After swiping my card for the past two years, I told her its never been a problem before, so I continued to swipe my card. Unfortunately my bank does not have chips on their cards right now. That being said, she then told me this would be the last time and continued to make my bagel angerly. All my transactions post automatically , so I showed her that the money was taken out of my account by Mitch's bagel. Once my bagel was finished she then made it a point to get the manager to address me in front of several other customers, that I could be using the card fraudulently. At this point I was done and ready to leave the food on the counter and walk out. What a shame to treat someone so negatively. I normally would never leave a review on here but I felt the need this morning. Especially after I've referred several people.
