I WAISTED 1:20 MINUTES WAITING FOR SERVICE! TRAIN YOUR STAFF. Today Mother's Day is been the worst, very understaff !! let me start with the girl in the front running like a chicken without a head, the first thing I ask was for empanadas I ask her to pay for them and separate them, she said not to worry by the time we sit down we can order and we will be fine, they sat us in the patio waited 30 minutes for someone to help us, when they finally come they told us again that all empanadas had been bought, also they inform us no chicharrones, no empanadas nada!! So we proceed to order again and give an opportunity to the chicken one, you think at least the will bring us something to drink, No! I ask him many times for las empanadas, We sat one hour lies after lies, we decided to leave, as we were leaving we saw the people that were sat with us at the same time, INSIDE finishing eating enjoying their pan con chicharrón, you guys are overselling what you have for pick up, if you gonna have people wait 30 minutes for a table by courtesy before sitting someone tell them the main two dishes that you sell the most you don't have, so you don't have them in the burning sun after 30 minutes to tell them you don't have them at until afternoon, YOUR EMPLOYEES Don't like to go outside!! You have one waiter for outside, not even the other 8 guys I see around came out to help. As a restaurant you lack customer service, very unorganized. Last year you sat me outside and I walked out I only waited 20 minutes outside and decided it was to hot and I left next door. Now I know is that you who ever manages this business is lacking staff training. Train your staff to help others customers who are not been helped, waiters shouldn't only think about the tip, now I am driving to J28 for the #1 Peruvian empanada in Miami and pan con chicharrón. As I was walking out also other people were leaving from outside. Olenkas empanadas is good but not the best also is next to my house but with this service I don't want...
Read moreOlenka is a hit or miss. I visited it on 2 consecutive weekends. On the first visit, it was 3 of us. We sat outdoors, which was pleasant. Olenka is a small but quaint place. We ordered the chicken causa, not your traditional causa, with different elements and textures that made it interesting. Big minus: too salty. For main course, we ordered sandwiches, a Butifarra and a 2 triples. Our waiter needs some training, he said they offered white and black (?) wines, but the staff is very attentive. The butifarra was nothing exceptional, although the 3 sauces they offered made it slightly more palatable. For dessert, we shared a Dulce de Leche Mousse, which was quite good. The second visit, was a bigger group, we sat indoors. It was noisy, there was a big birthday party right next to us and that made the experience less enjoyable. The cappuccino was good. I shared a ham and cheese omelet. It was a reasonable portion for one person, it came with a home-made bread that was delicious. For dessert, we ordered a suspiro and 2 alfajores. I barely tried them, but by the speed that the suspiro was devoured, I can tell it was good. :) That was a more pleasant visit. To pay, the waiter read us the items included in the bill, everything sounded correct, he told us the amount due, we added the tip and paid. Later, when I asked for the receipt, he came with it and money back, they had already charged the tip to the receipt. The waiter didn’t return the full amount, we were short $3, didn’t feel like complaining about it, but managed to leave us with a bad taste. Not excited to go back to eat, their outdoors area is great, the bakery is terrific, probably will just order a few items to go from the bakery or order a glass of wine or a dessert in...
Read more🌟I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EATING HERE🌟
I came here today, August 9, 2025, for a late lunch (around 14:00). I have eaten Peruvian food before and loved it so I was introduced to this place by my mom! They seem to have a lot of 2 seaters inside, but they do have 4 seaters both inside and outside.
🌿My EXPERIENCE🌿
Since I don’t speak Spanish or am well-informed on Peruvian cuisine, we had to ask the waiter a couple questions. He was SUPER nice and was patient with us (I didn’t get his name 🥲). He explained what a “Chicha Morda” is and carefully explained the dessert options they had when we asked toward the end of our meal.
“Chicha Morada” is a Peruvian beverage made from purple corn. 🌽 It seemed to have some other spices inside as well! It was delicious. The waiter let us try a little sample before we ordered it too ♥️
The “Passion Fruit Cheesecake” was out of this world! 🍰 The waiter said it was the best seller and we can see why! Also, don’t underestimate the cake!! It’s bigger than it seems because it’s quite thick and rich 😂 The two of us were slowing down toward the last third of it.
🧾 The PRICE BREAKDOWN 🧾
Considering everything we purchased, I was surprised by the price. We ordered:
2 Chicha Moradas - $5.00 each🍹 1 Lomo saltado - $24.00 🍽️ 1 Seco con tacu tacu - $22.00 🥘 1 Passion Fruit Cheesecake- $7.00 🍰
Total - $63.00 (not including tip) 🤩
Of course, you don’t have to try ordering drinks and dessert as well! My mom and I just wanted to try everything lol
Thank you for having us! We will definitely come...
