My husband and I celebrated his birthday with lunch at Conroy's this past week, and we had a delightful meal!
Katelyn B was our server, and was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about the menu. She gave us good recommendations regarding food items.
My husband had the Reuben sandwich, and LOVED it. He said the corned beef was extremely lean, juicy and tasty, and the subbing of caramelized onions for sauerkraut was a novel, delicious twist. The fries on the side were excellent as well. I had the cottage pie, and it was an authentic taste of Ireland. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned, with a vegetable medley of peas, carrot bits, and corn, and the mashed potato topping was soft and creamy. Again, delicious!
Conroy's has a welcoming ambience; the bar is quite small, but the dining room on the other side is open and inviting, with booths and tables to choose from. Memorabilia and photos from Ireland line the walls. It was cool inside on a hot day outside, with large-screen TVs unobtrusively airing sports events. It's a good atmosphere to relax in!
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Conroy's and plan to...
Read moreIrish pub/dive bar. Lots of local wall-flowers. Went here for a really neat Duvel collaboration with local artist JT Daniels. Love his street art and they did a special glassware release featuring his art. They did a great job, pours of Duvel in these massive glasses were $10 and you get to keep the glass which is why I went. Free t-shirts for the event, a poster you signed your initials for each Duvel pour you get (they were trying to reach 100 pours), raffle tickets too per pour, and get to meet the artist.
Food was okay. Pretzel sticks were a bit deceiving, their online picture menu shows 6 soft pretzel sticks but it only came with 3 for $10. Came with a good amount of cheese dip which was quality, but menu said you could get both mustard and cheese to dip so I did without realizing I was being charged $1.50 for literally 1 oz. of mustard. I also got their Irish curry to dip on the side. It's okay, reminds me of Japanese curry which is kind of generically flavored, like reconstituted curry powder. Most entrees are $15-20 without modifications, but they do have a ton of Irish pub...
Read moreThe few times I've been there it's always quiet and there's plenty of seating available. The food has been good, but a little overpriced for what you get. I had the fish tacos which were tasty, the dressing was good but each tortilla had one small fish stick in each one which was almost enough, but not quiet. I needed to break one of the sticks in half and or a half in each of the other tacos and it would have been perfect. Went back again and ordered the naked burger with a side salad. The burger itself was good, cooked well, nicely seasoned but again the portion size was a bit small for the price. My husband feet the same about the fish and chips he had. He had the tenderloin the first time we went and that was the appropriate size...
