Hi Hat Coffee — Restaurant in Westwood Hills

Adorable coffee shop in the Kansas City Area. The inside is on the smaller side but don’t let that keep you away! My first time visiting and Claire and Rebecca made my experience wonderful.

I’m not familiar with coffee but wanted to try out this place for awhile and finally came in. I asked them their recommendations and they both mentioned the The Bee High Latte. I’ve been staying away from caffeine and let me know that that the regular coffee can be replaced with decaf and no dairy substitutes if needed. I received my latte within minutes. They also have fresh pastries I snagged the last cranberry pastry (I can’t remember the name but was delicious) before a rush came in.

I've been frequenting Hi Hat for a little over a year now and have always received the highest quality service and coffee. The charming structure itself which looks like it was sucked right out of a Harry Potter book is enough to make my visit enjoyable. The inside is dainty, but very cozy and the workers are extremely friendly. They treat everybody like a neighborhood local that they personally know. Their menu options are vast with a flavor or blend for any coffee lover. They cater to the staunch coffee critics and those who think a blended frappe is the be all end all of coffee. I personally always get the Spicy Aztec Mocha because of the little melted bits of real spicy chocolate bars. It is creamy and decadent and dazzles the tongue. Pros: I’ve been really into the cinnamon honey lattes with oatmilk and that’s been my go to just about everywhere I go, and I have to say, this is quite possibly the best one I’ve had! The creaminess, prefect balance of coffee to flavor, presentation, all so amazing! The service was also amazing! People were so friendly, asked questions and seemed to genuinely want to get to know you a little! Thankfully it was a slow time so we got the chance to talk a little! I got the Bee High hot and my husband got the butter toffee one iced and that one was good too! Cons: no where to sit inside, but still some seating outdoors!
