Did you ever get the feeling that a business doesn’t want your business? That’s what I experienced at Goldberg’s Bagel Westwood.First I ordered a Sesame bagel with cream cheese. I believe it was nearly $4 so I was expecting greatness.It fell far short , the bagel quality was that of a supermarket bagel and there was so little cream cheese you would have thought they were rationing out the last cream cheese on Earth! 75% of the bagel was bare! Well somtimes I don’t learn my lesson the first time so I went back several weeks later to give them another chance. I walked in and as I walked past one of the employees I said good morning and was completely ignored! Another gentleman asked for my order so I ordered a Taylor egg and cheese on a Sesame bagel. This guy was pleasant enough but it took him forever to make a simple sandwich. I went and paid for my sandwich and waited patiently for it to be done. Well as I waited the first guy and another( I believe the owner) started staring at me as if I had done something wrong and they wanted to take me out! Needless to say I felt very uncomfortable until my sandwich was finally ready. I took my sandwich out to my truck to experience the coup de gras, my sandwich tasted very strange and I am hoping it does not make me sick! Before you go in here to get anything just be aware there are far superior alternatives within very short walking distance. Why some people decide they want to go into a business when they have no intention of making their customers happy...
Read moreTRULY GREAT FOOD AND AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! We needed a very last-minute holiday gift for my in-laws. We always go to Goldberg's when we visit - so I called to see if it was even remotely possible to order a gift to be delivered. I was connected with Elisa, the head of catering. She was incredibly helpful, despite the very late notice (the day before the start of Chanukah and Xmas - an insanely busy time).
Elisa miraculously worked within our budget, created truly impressive platters, and had them delivered at exactly the time she had promised! She's a great communicator - she took time to find out what let me know clearly what was prepared, how it was laid out, what was on each platter, etc.
Elisa's level of customer service was WAAAAAAY beyond anything I imagined. We are grateful to her and Goldberg's for making us look good! :) We will certainly stop by the next time we're in town, and the time after that, and the time...
Read moreNot usually one to complain, but this was disappointing. I’m visiting from Long Island and made a special trip up to Jersey this weekend. I specifically chose Goldberg’s of Westwood—30 minutes out of the way—because their website listed chocolate chip bagels, which my nephew loves.
I wanted to surprise my niece and nephew with breakfast this morning (she’s about to celebrate her birthday and loves her rainbow bagel with strawberry cream cheese), so I placed an order through Grubhub. I even added two different cream cheeses to make it extra special.
Unfortunately, no chocolate chip bagel. And only one cream cheese made it into the order. I called, was told the manager would call me back—but no one ever did.
