Just tried it for the first time yesterday and i woke up thinking about it. Might be going back today. Amazing place and a great addition to the Bergen county food scene.
All we tried so far was a plain pie and an italian hero. Here's my thoughts on each: Hero: Best I've had in NJ. They bake their own bread and the bread is great. For the fillings, they use top quality ingredients and they don't skimp. The hero was stuffed with loads of good meats, I may be wrong but it tasted like some imported italian cold cuts in there. The tomato was thick sliced by hand, which i love. Red wine vinaigrette was also homemade, I could tell because it seperated. Don't know for sure but tasted like and hopefully was olive oil because I'm trying to avoid seed oils. Minor suggestion- offer banana/sweet/hot peppers as a topping. Pizza: Solid. Nicely thin crispy crust, perfect amount of cheese. To me the sauce could have been more flavorful. On Dave Portnoy's scale I would give it a solid 8.1. This is a high score for places around here, where a thick doughy crust, too much cheese, and not enough sauce is the norm. Grandma square looked super thin and tasty, my daughter ate it so i didnt get to try it. Ambiance: Beautiful and laid back, shares a dining room with the pasta place next door (same ownership, haven't tried yet but the pastas the people were eating all looked good). Service: Very friendly, nice and eager to please. Order at the front. Drink case with some interesting offerings like Manhattan Special. Would have liked to see fresh brewed ice tea. Overall: 4.9 stars. Can't wait to come back and try some of the other stuff, especially the other...
Read moreI had such a pleasant experience here that I needed to write about it. Finding a good pizza take-out place in Bergen County has been very difficult having grown up in NYC -- and my husband and I have been consistently disappointed until yesterday. We ordered the Drunken Grandma Pie (I added on some sausage/proscuitto) -- and by the time I got there, I was greeted by a sweet young man at the register who said it would only be a few minutes. He saw how I ordered through Doordash and recommended calling the order would be cheaper -- and that everything at the restaurant and the restaurant next door is made in-house. The pie was VERY good - enjoyed by all family members at home, including my picky toddler. We only bought one pie, but will be back for more! So thankful to have a place like...
Read moreSmall cute place with great pizza, sandwiches and desserts. They have outdoor seating and like all great NJ gems it's BYOB. The sober grandma pie was delicious as was the meatball slice. The house made cheesecake was to die for! Sister restaurant, Al Dente pasta is next door and you can order from both and eat indoors or outside. This place is fairly new so now that warm weather is here I'm sure it will get more popular and crowded so get there early. It's not a sit down, waiter service place but the food is great. Service was great also. They brought all our food out to us on the patio when it was ready. Extra points for dog friendly patio and water service...
