was really excited to try Barbritos, especially with it being so close to home, but the experience left a lot to be desiredâand unfortunately, I wonât be going back.
We spent $70 on food, and nearly everything was either under-seasoned, poorly executed, or just didnât hold together. I ordered the cilantro crema and jalapeño crema, and both were basically just salt. No flavor, no balanceâjust salt. I know how this is made: mayo, sour cream, jalapeño, cilantro, limeâmaybe a pinch of salt. But this had zero lime, zero jalapeño flavor, and no freshness. Just poorly made.
My burrito couldnât even be wrapped properly. It was double-wrapped after the first tortilla tore, and when I opened it, it just completely fell apart. Not a burritoâjust a sad pile of ingredients.
When I called to give polite feedback, the response was basically, âWell, we just opened,â and âWe have new employees.â No offer to make things right. No refund, no apology. Just excuses.they even put me on hold to call the owners and still no resolve.
Honestly, thatâs not good enough when youâre charging full price and people are trusting you with their time and money. Iâve seen photos of other locations and they looked greatâmaybe theyâll get it together here. But Iâm not gambling another $70...
Read moreI guess a build your own burrito is $10 except she gave me one scoop of rice not even a scoop of beans I think they were running out of course it was like 8:30 tonight people were already ready to go home and she gave me one thing of chicken which is okay but there still was no beans on there and after I seen how many beans she put on there I actually should have just walked out when I after I asked her how much the burrito would have been when she said it was almost $11 and they gave me more of a beef burrito at taco Bell which is essentially the same thing that I was ordering from there anyway the lady did have a nasty attitude but I did tell her that that would be I was going to order me something but I wound up ordering my husband just cuz I'm not going to overpay for a burrito and I asked her how much beef she had left and she looked in there oh I got enough but you didn't have enough for two people you just had enough for one maybe but she was going to do me on the she probably didn't have any more of the beans that I wanted cuz his family done so I wasn't about to go and order another one anyway I don't like nasty attitudes and I don't like you ripping me off for the money that I work hard for...
Read moreChipotle sets a low bar for success in this consumer category, given that they have not made my order correctly or properly rolled the burrito once in the last dozen or so times I have gone. Barberitos did both on the first try, so already a huge win. Portions were fresh and large, and the burrito was rolled perfectly. I modified a chicken burrito to put it on the spicy side, and the spice level was perfect - added a nice zing. There are far more beverage options than most other chains, so thatâs also a huge plus. Pricing is comparable to any other big burrito place.
The rice in the burrito wasnât dry or crunchy like other chains, and the meat was nice and warm. I would love to see them add more meat options in the future (Iâm partial to carnitas). The side of guacamole was insanely delicious, best in the biz, but the small size was a bit small for the amount of chips that come with the burrito - Iâd probably opt for a medium next time. And I WILL be back, even if it means a bit of a drive from downtown Montgomery. So glad to have this place around.
Parking is a bit limited in front of the actual store, so you may have to park at Publix and...
