I'm a local... I've enjoyed Popeye's chicken for years and was excited when we got one here in Wetumpka. Unfortunately, I have never been to this Popeye's without some sort of issue. I like Popeye's well enough that I keep going back here HOPING that they will have fixed their issues, but alas... they haven't. The food is good, which is why the two stars. The problem is all of the rest of it. Food: good. Facility: relatively clean. Staff: Mostly unhappy... no smiles, chatter amongst themselves is negative. Drive-thru: The line has gotten shorter and shorter (a bad sign); usually, you drive straight up to order. The wait at the window varies, but, what doesn't vary is that the order is never correct. There is ALWAYS something wrong with it. The big one seems to be getting mild chicken versus the spicy you order. On-Line order: I've done this twice - neither try saved me any time. One trip I had to show them my order using my the Popeye's phone app. Inside order: Ordering is usually frustrating because the staff totally ignores you until they are ready to deal with you. Sometimes it feels like they want you to leave. Inside service: The orders are very seldom correct... My experience from yesterday... We were dining in... As we got out of the car and walking to the entrance, there was one car at the pick-up window - the driver had checked their order bags and was making a correction; The driver of the previous car had stopped and gotten out and was taking her order bag inside for a correction (by the way, as we waited to place our order, we watched as she was ignored by the staff until they were finally ready to deal with customers waiting to order). There was a couple in front of us who had been waiting to order; there was one family seated with their order; and us... every group had something that needed to be corrected with their order. Bathroom was clean.
So I guess the good best thing about the Wetumpka Popeye's is going to be the food itself, but it may not be the food that...
Read moreI arrived at 5:39 PM, but it’s now 6:05 PM, and I still haven’t received my food. When I went to the drive-thru to order, the girl on the speaker answered my call. I asked for the tackle shrimp box, but she informed me that they didn’t have cocktail sauce. I requested a sauce called garlic Parmesan, but she denied my request, stating that she couldn’t make it. I questioned why she couldn’t make it since they didn’t have cocktail sauce, but she refused to consider my suggestion. Instead, she offered me tartar sauce, which I declined because I don’t eat fish. Her attitude and disposition were extremely unpleasant. This will be my last stop at this establishment. I genuinely dislike dealing with customers who have such poor customer service. As a manager for food and beverage, I expect better from my employees. If you’re not happy with the service, please stay home. You’re paid to smile and provide excellent customer service before you get hired. They ask all these questions, so hopefully, she’ll improve her customer service skills. I travel up here to visit my parents, and I don’t mind going hungry if I have to pass by this place. I’m even more disappointed that Captain D’s was packed. When I asked for her manager, she claimed to be the manager herself. I requested information about the general manager and her name, but she said she was busy talking to a customer. I believe her...
Read moreLast week stopped and ordered chicken and when I got home my order was wrong. I ordered a 3 piece white dinner with mashed potatoes, got home and had a wing, a thigh and red beans which were cold. Called the store and the person answering the phone was BEYOND rude and hateful!!! I told her they had gotten my order wrong and what I ordered versus what I received. She told me to bring it back. I told her I live in Eclectic and I would come back tomorrow. She said if I wasn't coming back they couldn't help me and hung up. EXTREMELY RUDE AND HATEFUL!!! Today I decided to give them another chance so stopped and ordered a blackened chicken sandwich combo. I pulled around and sat behind 2 cars waiting to get to the window for 15 minutes (neither was asked to move out of line, they just sat there). I finally made it to the window and after charging my card was told to pull over to the side. I asked how long I would have to wait a d was told "10 minutes or so".
