I am diabetic so I expressed that to the server with no response. I also stated that I was looking for something low carb because of my diabetes. She never made any suggestions or even responded just stood there with pen & pad in hand & made me feel rushed so I just asked for 2 scrambled eggs with cheese & a strip of bacon. She said that she could only give me 2 or 3 strips of bacon so I said 2. I also ordered water with lemon to drink. Well the food was ok, a very unsatisfying portion though, small amount of eggs & the thinnest, whisky strips of bacon I've ever seen. I ate it didn't complain til the bill came. I had order 2 items & water but there was 3 charges then tax & my bill was almost $7 for this little lump of food. I asked why 3 charges & they said the $1 charge was for putting a piece of cheese on my eggs, the 2 eggs were like $2.50 & the bacon was like $2.90...then the tax...it was way more than expected. I could have ordered a bacon, egg & cheese toaster for $4 & took off the bread but no suggestions were made & I felt rushed 2 order so no time to think it through. I asked for a manager & met the "lovely" (sarcasm) Ashley who announced to me that she was the 'district manager' a title I'm sure she's very proud of but not very good at. I am gonna find out who owns this store & let them know they need to re-train some staff on how to accommodate all customers even those with medically necessary food restrictions. Ashley never made any apologies for her server or the attitudes I had received, only states that the food costs comes from corporate & they have nothing to do with that. The cost was not the root of this problem, or my complaint! The cost was high because possibly untrained servers don't know how to make suggestions based on the customer needs. After speaking to Ashley, "the district manager" I think I see why they r untrained & have attitudes themselves...needless to say I put the generous tip money that I had set aside, back into my pocket. This server got her tip....learn how to be a good server! I have worked in the food industry for several years & have eaten out in tens of thousands of restaurants from shabby to very chic. I am a very generous tipper, waited tables in college myself so I consider myself very knowledgeable on this matter. Ashley apparently doesn't want knowledge, she only wanted to go back into the back room where she slowly came from. She has 0 people skills & may need to look into another line of work. FYI Ashley, a simple smile, I am sorry & a moment of shutting ur mouth & listening would have been...
Read moreI would give this place a 0 rating that were possible. I couldn't call in my order, so I was forced into placing an online order which made me have to pay in advance regardless of the service I received or my satisfaction or dissatisfaction with the food. My order confirmation said that my order would be ready at 1:35 am. So, I waited in my car until then. Once that time arrived, I went into the establishment to the register and waited for what felt like forever, to be asked if I needed help, while the Waffle House employees ignored and avoided me as if I didn't exist. I finally, made eye contact with one of them and told her that was there to pick up my online order. She said that they were backed up on orders and that it would take a little longer. I understood, said ok, and went back to my car to continue to wait. I go back into the restaurant at 1:50 am. As I was headed to the register, another customer was also walking up, I was clearly there first. However, the employee at the register was about to look over me and help this other individual, but I made her aware that I was there first. I told her that I was there to pick up an online order that was originally supposed to be ready by 1:35 am. She asked me my name, I told her, then she proceeds to yell my name throughout the restaurant. No one acts like they know what is going on. She then yells "who's working online orders?" Again, all the employees look lost and confused. I then, commence to leave the building. I am not only disappointed that my order is not ready, I am now embarrassed to be standing there after my name has been blasted throughout the restaurant and after I waited at the register with no assistance and was almost overlooked to help another individual who was of the same race as every employee. (I am not of that race). I sat and watched from my vehicle and noone of that race was treated how I was treated. It was a horrible experience. I have worked in customer service all my life and I am always treated every how I would want to be treated. This is disgusting and unacceptable. No one went the extra mile. I never got the food (a single cheeseburger) that I paid for. This issue needs to be addressed or I will...
Read moreVery friendly staff. The food is good but they need to work on food consistency and the quality of the food that the cooks are putting on a plate or in a bowl for their customers to eat. Some of the cooks don't seem to care what their putting out for us as a customer to eat and the waitresses should not serve the food without looking too see if it's cooked properly enough to serve to their customer's. The menu's need updating. I want to know how much an order of toast is. It's not on the menu, you have to ask a waitress and if they don't know then you have to wait until they go ask someone else and the $5.00 menu is gone now. For some of us this $5 menu allowed me to eat on a budget due to a small income. I wouldn't be able to go in and spend $10-$15 bucks on a meal. I do hope they will reconsider and put it back. Also, we go quite a bit and the person I go with has been a customer there for 5-6 years going everyday to eat breakfast. They give a senior discount but no free cups of coffee.. I believe that for your regular customers that eat at your restaurant rather than somewhere else on a daily basis that you should at the very least offer a free cup of coffee, all that does is show the regular customers some appreciation for choosing you and not another place.. Sorry I had to say it but yes this is a good place with a nice staff it just...
