I was optimistic headed into this store, especially seeing that two iconic New England brands were operating under the same roof. Papa Gino’s for the longest time was a staple of my childhood. I remember having birthday parties at one location and you had so many pizza slices and Hoodsie cups by the time you left, all you could think is, “wow, this is going to be a mess later.” But this visit to Papa Gino’s/D’angelo’s just wasn’t the same, and it wasn’t because I didn’t have a Hoodsie cup, it was a long list of things.
I noticed walking in that there was only one couple in the dining room and about five members on staff, including the woman who efficiently took my order, she was the best part. Once I sat down and waited for my order, a hot sub, I noticed a notification on my phone from my credit card provider that my purchase was approved and saw the time stamp and made note of it.
As I waited, I scrolled through IG and a few other apps to pass the time but kept getting distracted from some foul language coming from the kitchen and how a trainee was being treated, both of those left me very unsettled and uncomfortable. The tone of the employee that was training the new cook was not polite and having worked in a kitchen for years, if I were that new cook, I wouldn’t feel inclined to learn and hold onto that job.
30 minutes later, my sub came out and I realized that this too was not the same quality that I remember from the Papa Gino’s empire. The sub was burnt and there were black crispy specks from the dirty grill that they were cooking on. Before I left, who seemed to be the manager was loudly talking about a customers order and that didn’t seem right to me either. Wouldn’t return to this store again because of all the stated reasons above....
Read moreI actually had a really bad experience going in there the other night it was just about clothes. I felt bad for going in there really late but I was getting off work as well and I just wanted to have some thing for my family to eat. I had gone inside and there was also another gentleman coming in behind me for a pick up order and they haven’t made the pizza yet. The manager had the audacity to go next time just so you know we close at nine thanks and then just walks away.
I was like OK, I’ll let it go, but then they hand me the pizza in a sarcastic way to me and the pick up guy they made the pizzas at the same time handed them over to us, and then the other employee came up behind us and was staring at us because they wanted us to leave quickly we ended up getting pushed out the store and had to sit outside to wait for our ride. Granted it was only five minutes I look inside the pizza box and the pizza is literally the cheese is falling off the cross doesn’t even like made right they didn’t even push the dough into the mold because they were...
Read moreSo my wife and I got very sick for 2 days after this visit. We ordered different things so this means SOMEONE DID NOT WASH THEIR HANDS. Nobody was wearing food handler gloves which is a state law. The manager was sweeping and mopping with no gloves then handling food. The 2 young guys were playing with their phones scratching their hair, ass and crotch and biting their nails. Anyone see a problem? So I have been eating Papa Gino’s for 55 years and had 6 bad meals, honestly not a bad record. I called corporate thinking they would want to know someone got sick. I got a call back from KATHY WHO WAS THE MOST RUDE AND IGNORANT PERSON. “This is the last time we are giving you a refund, you have done this a few times before.” So forget about customers getting sick. The CEO didn’t even care so now I will never go back and I will make it my mission to now inspect every Papa Gino’s and report what I find and see to the Board of Health……eat at...
