• Update…The 5 stars still go to the employee I stated below but the store is just…..lacking, I guess. Just do yourself a favor & go somewhere else. They cannot keep the self checkout lanes operative & you can tell the employees don’t care. It’s just sad & unfortunate for the few employees I’ve encountered who have been stellar. But the customer service desk, cashiers & front end staff are no help. There is an amazing older gentleman who works out back (in meat dept possibly)who is so polite & knowledgeable. The deli counter staff are helpful & make eye contact. These people are the hard workers. I wish I could review departments. But thank you to the staff who go out of their way to help, you speak to you with respect & care. 🫡 *

These 5 ⭐️ go to Crystal. Early Friday night, I lost my car keys. I was panicking, eyes filled with tears, asking S&S employees for help. One kid didn’t even make eye contact with me, he had his eyes glued to his phone, what seemed to be texting, & told me to go to service counter. Go there, the woman didn’t even try to help me, only said no, nothing returned. Asked the self checkout monitor & woman at register next to the one I used, they both said no, I need to go to service counter, and went back to standing there. So by now I am crying, not like outright sobbing, but now feeling defeated & helpless. I started walking aisles again & Crystal was stocking some bread. I proceeded to tell her what happened, that I really needed help finding my keys & I know it’s not her job & if she could help me. This woman actually helped me, she went thru aisles with me, also the registers, she put on gloves and went thru the trash at the floral counter (where I threw some receipts away) just to check (THIS BLEW MY MIND) then she accompanied me outside to my car & we both tried looking in my car. (No, no key fob, I got a 2013 Sūb, lol…..so just a key that goes in ignition) My wallet & purse was locked in car. Even an older gentleman saw us in parking lot & tried to help. About 35 mins passed & I now was calling AAA - to see what they can do. Crystal went back inside, to go take another look, she even remarked on how NO ONE ELSE, NOT EVEN A MANAGER OR SUPERVISOR came to my assistance, no gave a $hït. She came running back out, my keys in her hand. Someone found my keys at a register no where near the one I was at & turned them in to customer service. That’s how much the other Stop & Shop staff didn’t care about my predicament or what was going on, that I was sobbing on the phone to AAA, they could have returned my car keys to me 15 mins earlier, but no. Crystal too, couldn’t believe that no one came outside, to check on me or even with me, to see if those keys were mine & they were. No one else reserves any damn stars, only her. I was so appreciative I gave her the small grocery order I shopped for. Thank you Crystal, for taking your time to treat me like a human being. I hope your efforts are appreciated there. You can’t “train” someone on kindness, which you showed to me. I know this is a long a$$ review, but you deserve it...

The Stop And Shop supermarket in Hingham is one of the worst stores and should close. I used to be a loyal customer of Stop And Shop supermarket and shopped there exclusively though the store is not like it used to be. I don’t shop there now exclusively because the Stop And Shop supermarket isn’t carrying the items I always would buy and I have asked them to please carry the items so I don’t have to go to other stores though the store hasn’t put the items in the store so the store is losing business they would have had. I always would buy in the store though they don’t have the items I had always would buy and the store’s prices are very high. I now shop at the Shaw’s supermarket which I like and is much better and I shop at the Walmart store which is much better. A friend gave me a Stop And Shop supermarket gift card and when I went to the register to use the store gift card the gift card was not accepted because they said the Stop And Shop supermarket systems are down and won’t accept the gift cards and they had no other alternate way of using the gift card so why do the Stop And Shop supermarket sell store gift cards if you can’t use them? It is not fair they get the money when someone buys the store gift card though they won’t have an alternate way of using the store gift card if the systems are down so I didn’t buy anything since their store gift card couldn’t be used since the systems are down and they don’t know when they will be up again. The people who work in the store in Hingham you can tell they don’t like their jobs they are all unfriendly and it’s a paycheck they don’t care about the customers. I was a steady loyal customer and they would ask me why I came in the store again like why would they ask something like this you would think they would want customers to come back again. If I hadn’t received the Stop And Shop supermarket store gift card I wouldn’t have went in the store to do any shopping and it was like wasting time after doing the shopping the store gift card wouldn’t work because they’re systems are down. The store certainly doesn’t care about their customers. The store should close and open up a Shaw’s supermarket or a Walmart store would be much better so I shop now in other stores like Shaw’s supermarket and Walmart store. Stop And Shop supermarket doesn’t have me for a steady loyal customer now. The store should carry the items they used to sell that I have requested and they should have a way of using the gift card if their systems are down. The customer service desk is awful there I went to return something and they gave me the change though not the dollar bills I had to ask them for all of the money I had the receipt and if I hadn’t said anything she wasn’t going to give me the dollar bills only the change. The people in the store don’t care about the customers they are only concerned about...

Never get a job here. I have never dealt with a place that hires you, doesn't tell you what your actual job will entail, you get in your first day and no one knows who you are or why you are there, you work there for almost 3 weeks and have never met your manager. You only figure out what to do by the other part time people there,I was never told When WE goT paid or where to get our checks,. I finally asked a coworker and after he told me I had two checks sitting there and no one told me. I got a text once from a Manager I never met saying can you work these hours this week so I did, I'm asking everyone when am I going to be on a schedule? Am I on a schedule? They tell me no Just come in when you worked last week. I call and they say you missed two shifts o. Days I didn't work and times of day I didn't work. Meanwhile no management ever told me I was scheduled or even told me how to look up a schedule, but I guess that's my fault right? So just know that the manager Dave of produce is too unprofessional to even bother meeting a new employee , showing them what the job is, where a schedule is, how to look it up, leaves everything to coworkers that arent be paid to train you and its not their responsibility. So this guy Dave drops the ball is too unprofessional to go over any part of working there and instead of being an honest person and admitting it was him not doing his job and being an inept and nonexistent " manager" he lets a guy that walked 2 miles to work and 2 miles home to make minimum wage take the fall. These are the type of people that are managers. Also the amount of good produce and rotisserie chicken they throw out is sickening I'm talking the width of a jacuzzi and about 4 feet high. Full every other day. There's people starving. Why not donate it. Be warned. if you like supporting places with miserable , rude management with zero personality or humanity this is the place for you. If not go...
