Super Bowl Sunday, my husband and I decided neither of us wanted to cook so we ordered a pizza online(from the website, so it seemed like it was an employed delivery driver, not a DoorDash driver or someone third party), and paid/tipped with a credit card(important info). We placed the order to be delivered at 5:00, it was delivered at 4:58, which was a surprise. We were expecting it to be later due to it being a high volume pizza day. Unfortunately, the delivery driver seemed to be attempting to scam us. When my husband answered the door, the driver told him that we needed to pay. Since I was the one who ordered and paid, my husband called for me. The delivery driver said that he didn’t speak much English and went back to his car to grab a second phone to use in order to communicate. With the help of Google translate, he tried telling me that his other phone is showing that we still need to pay, and if I don’t pay and he leaves the pizza, then it gets taken from his money, which I get, but I had paid and had proof both on my emailed receipt and the side of the pizza box that we paid with a Visa card. Once I told him that he could wait while I called the store to get it sorted out and hopefully talk to someone who could speak more Spanish to him and have it be understood better than using translate, he gave up and gave me the pizza and quickly walked away. I still called and spoke with the manager, and explained what happened and that I just wanted to make sure that if he was attempting to either pocket $40 in cash or take our card info. The manager was extremely receptive and apologetic, which is exactly what I wanted. Despite the situation as well as the busy day, she took the time to listen to my feedback, looked up my order to see which driver was assigned to my order and promised that she would make sure it wouldn’t happen again. She handled the situation wonderfully and I am thankful that...
Read moreI wish I could write a good review because I used to love Papa John's pizza, but tonight it was pretty horrible. I placed an order through their website today at 5:30. I received an email confirmation saying the delivery would be between 30-40 minutes. At 6:30 I called the location, just to make sure my order actually went through. They told me the driver called and said he'd been to our house 2x and tried calling my number and no one answered. They confirmed they had the correct phone number and address. I told them it was a little hard to believe he'd been there because I have a puppy that goes crazy when anyone approaches our front door and I was sitting next to my phone the entire time with no missed calls. She said she'd let the driver know he could come back to my house and deliver it.
15 minutes later I called back just saying I needed to cancel the order and I'd be calling another pizza place. She apologized and said when he got there to let him know I had cancelled it. He arrived shortly after and acted as if nothing happened until I told him I had just cancelled it because it'd been nearly an hour and half since I placed the order, then he got very annoyed and said he'd been to my house and tried calling. I told him no one had been to my house and I hadn't received any calls. He walked away in a huff.
I can understand having the wrong house or even running late. However lying about the situation AND not offering to make it right is ridiculous customer service and is pretty incredible that it's coming from a well-known business.
Very disappointed. I ended up calling Papa Murphey's and plan on doing so...
Read moreabsolutely never go here. asked to be called when driver got here as our condo is restricted access. the tracker said delivered and we did not receive a call. walked downstairs to meet the driver and waited 20 minutes to see if they were running late. nothing. called the store and was hung up on. called again and stated we never received a call and the manager said the driver was back at the store and he did in fact call. she stated we made our decision and hung up on us. i go to the store to pick up my pizza and speak to the manager who i spoke to on the phone. she immediately raised her voice and said she was NOT refunding us. i told her i did not want a refund i just wanted to know why we did not receive a phone call. she stated her driver called 2x and we did not answer. she proceeded to yell at the top of her lungs at us about how we were rude and that she was not going to get her driver to show us that he called. then she walked from behind the counter still yelling and told us to get out and that she would even hold the door for us. she opened the door and we left. during all of this ever single employee in the store stopped working and was staring at us getting yelled at.
absolutely insane how this women spoke to us. i have never experienced something like this.. especially over a pizza and what seemed like just a miscommunication. after reading the reviews, i see it was NOT a miscommunication and just horrible management. please, never go here. they are clearly stealing money from consumers and serving old dough to customers, which was stated in several of these google reviews i have read on this...
