Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Wheat Ridge

Very disappointing staff atmosphere @ this location 👎🏽 It's a shame really bc I like Tropical Smoothie. I was waiting on a pickup when I overheard one of the ladies behind the counter asking her coworker if he needed to take a minute. The young man proceeded to step off to the washroom. While 3 of us were waiting on pickup orders & more ppl began walking in, the 2 young ladies behind the counter proceeded to make fun of their coworker for what sounded like, problems with breathing behind his N95 mask. The 2 young ladies w/ tattoos continued to laugh about the matter, both of whom looked @ me & saw that I was waiting, amongst others, yet never saying hello or asking what we were waiting on. One of them even went so far as to ask another staff member to take orders while she herself did nothing but continue to laugh about their coworker.

I had to step forward after waiting several minutes to ask the other only young man working behind the counter (who seemed to be the only one rushing around in an effort to do anything) if he knew how long the wait may be for my order. At that point he went to check the dozen smoothies sitting on their back counter (apparently it was too hard to put them out for the customers), only to realize my order was ready & sitting there the whole time. He appologized & brought me my order which I very much appreciated his effort to help me. But it is sad to see such shallow personalities @ the workplace, like children laughing about their coworker's struggle with working in a mask? In front of customers nonetheless. Smh. Bad for business. Not an environment I'd contribute my dollars to. Learn some respect for one another, everything isnt about your societal biases - leave...

A group of four of us came in about 45 minutes before closing time. Besides us, there was one other customer in the store who had already placed an order and was waiting, but no one came in after our party. The first three of us ordered a food item and a smoothie, but the fourth member of our party was told she couldn't order food because it was too late. We asked why only 3/4 of our party was served and why they couldn't just cut off food orders after her order since no one else was in line. The cashier said the manager told her to stop taking food orders after the first three of us. The manager told us it was because they needed to focus on their closing duties. I understand the idea behind cutting back the menu at a certain point, and it honestly would have been preferable to just tell our whole group they could only do smoothies at that time. We wouldn't have ordered food if we knew we wouldn't all be able to eat. We ended up sharing our food with our friend, but its still so wild to all of us that a manager would...

First time I've ever been there. I told the guy at the counter first time I've ever been here can you help me order something feeling a little exhausted under the weather wanted to get a boost he couldn't help me. All he said is you can order anything up there and add anything up there Well if I knew what to order I wouldn't have asked him and I said it so you can't suggest anything you don't have any favorites know you can order anything you want up there. There were people behind me I was rushed to order so I just got a strawberry banana and that was a disappointment because the bananas taste really old and yucky in it I paid over $7 for a drink that I thought was going to make me feel better instead only made my stomach upset from the bad bananas that are in it so I do not recommend this place if there's another one that knows their product and willing to sell it to you or help you order something then...
