This hidden spot is full of surprises. Located right next to the famous European store/pharmacy, Fresh Farms, I often shop there but never knew about Kitchen House restaurant just around the corner. The restaurant offers authentic food in a cozy atmosphere, with jars of jam and compotes neatly stacked on the shelves and traditional Georgian clothing pieces and souvenirs displayed, immersing you in the culture. I believe food is a direct reflection of a culture, and you can't fully understand it without tasting its traditional dishes. Oh, and the flowers at every table in vases are real. That made me smile.
I ordered Chakhokhbili and Adjaruli Khachapuri, and neither left me hungry or disappointed. The herb and tomato chicken stew was delicious, served with a generous piece of warm Georgian bread, which was a delightful surprise. The Khachapuri—a warm, puffy boat of bread filled with cheeses, butter, and an egg in the middle—was heavenly. You mix the egg and cheese, tear off a piece of the cheesy bread, and dip it into the creamy mixture. The buttery, savory, and cheesy flavors make it the ultimate comfort dish. I loved every bite.
As for the comments about the service, it's important to understand that the servers and cooks here come from different backgrounds and may not speak much English. People might be shy and lack the confidence to approach you and stand over your soul while you are trying to enjoy your order. Honestly, that would be intrusive. Sometimes it gets quite annoying when servers repeatedly interrupt to ask if everything is okay, especially when your mouth is full. While this might be considered polite and “attentive” by Western standards, it can come across as excessive and aimed solely at earning tips - our server didn’t even understand why we were leaving money at the end of our visit and tried to give it back. We had to explain that it was a gratuity from us. Note that most of the staff (if not all) are women who might appear more reserved or less extroverted in certain social contexts due to cultural differences, but this shouldn't detract from the experience. Try to be patient and understanding. They are there to provide you with good food, not to cater to every whim. Embrace the experience and enjoy the delicious...
Read moreCan't tell you if the food is good, we didn't get to try it. We were looking for something different and I found this restaurant online, it had good reviews. The photos appeared to be an order at the counter and seat yourself style. We drove an hour and were excited to try as we've never had Georgian food. There were 2 large tables of people eating and 2 booths full. The rest of the tables had reserved signs on them. There was a menu board to order at the counter and one laminated menu on the counter. A couple employees were moving around but no one welcomed us and we felt incredibly awkward. Finally a man came to the register and I asked if they could seat us. He said no. I said "no?" as I looked around and he then spoke in their language to another employee then said to me "maybe in 40 minutes?". We were hungry and had nothing to do if we waited, so we left. I really wanted to try the food, but for the long drive to not get to eat in a half empty restaurant, is too much a gamble to take. Dear owner, please dont turn away new customers. Welcome them and...
Read moreWe came here to celebrate a birthday with two friends, and it was absolutely perfect! We originally called to book a table for 3:00, then called back to reschedule for 4:30—and it was no problem at all. The staff was super friendly and welcoming from the start.
The food was incredible—the khachapuri and khinkali were so authentic, I genuinely felt like I was in Kutaisi or Batumi. The shashlik was juicy and full of flavor, and the homemade compote was the perfect touch. While the wait time was a bit long, it was totally worth it once the food arrived.
The atmosphere was amazing too: the smell of Georgian spices filled the air, traditional music was playing, and you can even try on papakhas! It really felt like a little piece of Georgia.
If I could suggest anything, it would be to add a few more small Georgian touches—maybe some books, quotes, or traditional decor—and consider updating the menus and chairs to reflect that warm, Georgian style even more.
All in all, a 10/10 experience. Can’t wait to come back with...
