Ordered family chicken meal and was very disgusted ! Dark meat was raw, white meat was dried out & biscuits were stale ! Lost me as a customer as I will go back to Browns Chicken for sure ! Called at least 5 times before closing trying to reach a Mgr. No answer each time ! Tried again in morning when they opened, again 5 times no answer ! Went to Popeyes on Dundee in Arlington Hts where I bought food.Building was locked saw man run up to door and he made sure door was locked ! I banged on door for 5 minutes , obviously he saw me with bag in hand and new there was going to be a complaint by a customer ! I drove around the back and yelled into a proped open rear door and yelled for a Mgr. 4 times. Finally same guy that locked front door sticks his head out and I tell him I want a refund for bad chicken .He said were closed inside go to drive up window. And he locked that door in my face. When I go to drive up window female worker opens sliding window and same guy (mgr)?,ask me what I want . I started to talk and female worker asks when I bought chicken , so I tell her last night . She then tells me I have to comeback and talk to night crew and slams sliding window shut with both hands ! Mind you I have my receipt in hand and disgusting chicken in other ! I yelled thru closed window I want a refund 3 times !She tells me I have to move my car or she is calling police ! I said go ahead maybe they can help me. I then said give me corporate office #,and your names . They then just refused that request so I pulled away and called corporate office after I googled it . Customer service rep took down my tale of whoa , and said management will investigate and to not lose my receipt ! 30 years as a Mgr. Myself I have never ever seen a business run so rudely and with zero customer service. I hope corporate refunds my money or else my next move will be TV investigative reporters and or small claims court ! This place has drawn a line in the sand and I got all the time in the world ! Read moreSo today I decided to go back to this location. Terrible mistake. I ordered a surf n turf through the app and again for pickup. I figured since my last encounter, the dining area might have reopened. Nope. I noticed that my ApplePay stated there was an error with payment and the order wasn't properly placed through the app. I decided not to wait in line and since "an error with your payment" popped up, I left. A couple hours later, I noticed an email for my order, stating my ApplePay went through and basically placed my order and never picked it up. So I went to pick it up. When I got to the speaker, I explained to the manager my situation, gave my name, order, order number, time placed, etc. He paused for a short time then said he didn't have anything in the system, so he wouldn't be able to do anything about it. Told him I had a receipt and pulled up to the window. The staff seemed jaded over how busy they were and I waited to see what the manager said. He came by, asked for my name and I showed him the receipt. He went back for several minutes then came back with my food. He seemed quite irritated with the fact that he had to even put my order together. No bother for apologizing, no thank you's, no nothing. Typical service expected from this location and their staff, sadly. Once I opened the box, the food quality, again, didn't surprise me. Read moreI have never written a review because I understand mistakes happen, but my experience with this Popeyes location was so concerning that I felt compelled to share. The business practices here are highly questionable and unethical.
Last night, I placed an order, but the staff gave it to someone else. I waited outside for them to correct the mistake, and when I finally received my food, half the order was missing. I returned to address the issue and was given another bag. However, upon getting home, parts of my order were still missing.
While I understand that mistakes happen and remained respectful to the staff, what happened next was unacceptable. I took a bite of my chicken, only to find that it was dark black and inedible. This occurred around 11 PM.
The next day, I returned to request a refund. After 30 minutes of what felt like negotiating with the manager—who had to call their boss—I was denied. I was told I should have come back the night before at 11 PM to resolve the issue, which is an unreasonable expectation. After further discussion, I was offered a free meal as compensation. I didn't want the meal I just wanted my money back.
I am attaching a photo of the chicken as proof of its condition. While I do not want any employees disciplined or fired because mistakes do happen, I believe the boss needs to take accountability for how this situation was handled. I was never going to write this untill the boss said I can't get a refund and that I should have driven back at 11 pm.
