Seoul Supermarket — Local services in Wheeling Township

This used to be a small Korean grocery store I often went to for snacks and catering items. It’s closer than H Mart or Joong Boo Market, and locals liked it because the food used to taste good. But starting last year, the quality became inconsistent, and recently it feels completely different. The last time I went, I bought some food around lunchtime, and by dinner it was already half spoiled. I called to explain, but before I could even finish, the staff got defensive and upset, saying their food is always fresh, and told me to bring the items and receipt back. The next morning, I made time to go. The cashier was rude from the start and left me standing there until the owner/manager came out about 10 minutes later. Instead of apologizing, she started lecturing me, saying they make food daily, that maybe it spoiled because I didn’t bring an ice box, or didn’t put it in the fridge right away. The truth is, I did bring an ice box and stored it properly, but she ignored that completely. She also dismissed the fact that my family’s dinner was ruined because of spoiled food. There was no intention to refund either. To make matters worse, a few items I purchased were actually past their expiration dates. After reading other reviews, it looks like I’m not the only one who experienced this. Selling spoiled products is unacceptable, and if it happens, the least they should do is apologize and make it right. Sadly, this place does neither. I won’t...

I have been buying side dishes and soup twice per week here, recently, one of side dishes I bought had very poor quality w/ Yeon-geun-jorim

(I tried one of few dozen pieces, but could not chew because it was too hardened, felt pain on the theeth, actually I have healthy teeth and I've never complained food quality at any restaurant / food market in my life, but I felt I cannot eat this becuase theeth would be damaged, at first, I thought it is just $5 food and gave up complaining, but wanted to give feedback to the market to avoid same complaining from other customers, I visited here next day by driving half hour and explained to the register, but she looked upset and explained it has normal quality? she put it into the garbage can, so I expected return/ replacement, but did not accept the return/replacement, how should I do? very bad feeling, I regret to give feedback and went back to the home w/o anything, do not want go to this market anymore, check the food quality carefully before buying, if not...

Please do not order catering from this place due to the multiple food safety and lack of knowledge of employees. I ordered Sweet Potato Noodles for the company potluck without the meat for vegetarian staffs. I made sure three times prior to pick it up and my coworkers found small pieces of meat at the bottom of the tray. The owner admitted that she was in hurry so decided to take out meats with hands and never bother inform me about it. The way the owner and manager were responding to this incident was only caring about what the name of company is and how many people have eaten to be prepare any legal problem if someone get sick or worse things happens. Had to apologize to every single coworkers and to the company itself for meat in the food and owner clearly did not show care. She kept saying it was only few pieces and would not matter so much!
