Tomatillo Taco Ville — Restaurant in Wheeling Township

Definitely a better experience a year later, great tasting tacos, we had the carne en su jugó as well and it’s good. Salsas are very flavorful and spicy as they should be ! They now have karaoke nights! Will for sure come back. Reasonable priced drinks. Good service. A year ago... Unfortunately didn't meet my expectations, it looks like a clean place. Needs definitely more staff, not the best choice if you are in your lunch break it took 15 min for us to get our tacos. The food wasn't hot, salsa were not spicy at all, cilantro not fresh, no lemons. I had the pork tacos which should have onions and pineapple usually but not here asada was tasteless. I was really hoping to like the place since I drive 30 min to go to my favorite taco place but that was not the case. I'm willing to come back again in the future maybe is just cause they just opened that food and service is not that good. Oh and horchata water not...

This used to be a really good place. The quality and overall service have been in steady decline over the last few years.

Last night's "meal" was the last straw! I ordered the tostada dinner and was told that they could make it with anything I wanted. I ordered one ground beef and one guacamole.... what I got didn't even taste like nor did it even resemble ground beef. And, I did not get any guacamole!! There was no shredded cheese on either tostada either. The ground beef was fatty, with orange grease pouring from it... the texture was more like bad steak. My husband's burrito also was sitting in a pool of orange grease. The refried beans and rice were ice cold!!! The beans actually seemed like they were just taken out of a can. In addition, NO silverware or napkins were provided. So, food quality has gone way down hill and the service shows that they are going through the motions. Gonna find another place to go for...

Delicious and flavorful chilaquiles are hard to find near me, but I found them at Tomotillo. The restaurant had just opened for the day and seems like a cheerful lunch spot, with indoor and outdoor seating. There’s even a little bar in the back!

I surprised them by ordering coffee on a hot day, but when it eventually arrived, it was strong, hot, and had a taste of something like cinnamon.

My order was beautifully presented for such a modest little café, with a flourish of crema. The eggs laid so carefully on top were perfectly cooked, browned well and yet with tender yolks. I left a clean plate!

There was pride in their food and respect for their ingredients that shone through. They open earlier than other lunchtime options in the shopping plaza and I will happily return the next...
