Dutchman's Daughter Restaurant — Restaurant in Whitehall

I've eaten at Dutchman's Daughter several times in the 30+ years that I've lived in Fairmont. This restaurant is a small, quiet restaurant, but the tastes of all of their food is absolutely delicious! Most people would expect such delicious foods to come from a big restaurant, but I'm telling you that's not true when it comes to Dutchman's Daughter. This may be a small restaurant, but they make some of the best foods of any restaurant around. Their foods taste home made and they always give you large portions of anything that you order. You definitely always get your money's worth. Trust me, you will never be disappointed with any food that you eat at Dutchman's Daughter. Took my wife and family out to dinner, night before our baby will be born! Thought we would try the Dutchmans Daughter, as they seem to have good reviews. Nice looking restaurant, and our waitress was polite. Things went downhill quickly when the food came. One of us ordered ribeye steak, and it was spoiled! I'm talking rotten! My father in law had already taken a bite, and I could smell it from across the table! The waitress could smell it also, and took it back to the kitchen for the cooks to examine. I had the Italian sausage hoagie myself. I could have stopped at the gas station down the street, and microwaved a better one. No flavor, poor quality. After paying, I asked to speak with a manager. I was not a bit surprised when the cashier said in fact, that there was no manager there on duty! I guess they come in after hours to count the money, and nobody cares about the operation of the store. We eat out a lot & Morgantown places get old quick. So we looked into places a little further away. We heard great things about this place. So we tried it. & holy moly. I’m so glad we did! I got sausage & pasta. It didn’t have any sauce so I was a little skeptical trying it but the sausage was so so good. My son got shrimp & he loved it. My partner got shrimp pasta & he loved it! We ended up having leftovers of both the pastas so we ended up combining the leftovers & it was magical. Definitely want to go back to try more.

OH!! The fudge cupcakes by the register. Try those!!! My partner got 2 because he said they looked like his mother’s peanut butter candy.
