Jon Smith Subs — Restaurant in Whitehall

I ordered the Italian sandwich and I asked for it to be made hot the representative guy at the front agreed. I asked him if there was Italian dressing to go on the sub and he said there is not. When I got my sandwich., It was cold and there was mayo on it. When I came back in the store, I asked for a refund because the sandwich had mayo on it and that my sandwich was cold. He told me mayo comes on it but it is not on the sandwich description (no sauce is indicated on the menu for this sandwich). I asked for a refund, He agreed for the refund but in cash form. I agreed. He did not give me my full refund in cash and when I asked him about it, he said that he didn’t have enough change. I then asked him, Why didn’t you tell me that you didn’t have the exact change for the refund instead of just giving me what you had in your drawer? He said I didn’t know you needed the money that bad and proceeded to give me a whole dollar back. I asked him what he meant by me needing the money so bad he said yeah you need the money bad. He proceeded to call me out of my name and my mother cuss word names as well. I asked for a manager, I saw no manager and I left. Well I wanted to give 5 stars. But I've been here 3x now and I hate inconsistency in food establishments. Yes I know anyone can have an "off" day. But I see this too often in Columbus. 1st 2 times the sandwich was good Service was good. But I was charged $7 for the 6" sub. No problem. Till 3rd time.. sub is actudlly $6.95. so it's only a nickel but x every customer that comes in that's a tidy bonus for the owner every day. 3rd time was a few days ago. Waited 20 minutes for my sub; for it to be TOTALLY wrong. The young woman seems to have ignored everything I requested. I wanted it cold. It came hot. I wanted oil and vinegar, it came with nothing. I asked for no banana peppers. It had banana peppers. The sandwich was NOT good and half went in the trash. They aren't really set up for drive thru service either, yet they try and it seriously detracts from walk in customers being served. Also the manager could see they were busy but instead of helping out he simply strolled around in back doing nothing and ignoring customers.

I'm disappointed because I drive out of my way to give this place my business. I am always happy when new food comes to the area. But sadly, After my last experience, I probably won't be back. You need to keep the same enthusiasm and quality as when you first opened to...

The customer service was great, very kind staff. The place seemed like a nice Ethiopian spot with American Sandwhiches. There is plenty of seating, clean and would be a nice little place to rent out for a small event. The food was ok. I think the restaurant pictures of the food was better than the actual sandwhiches you received but we know that most major restaurants use this marketing tactic. I am an east coast girl and we looooooove our sandwhiches so there is already a high expectation. I ordered the steak bomb without bacon. The taste was there, it was good, the meat was an ok quality but it lacked filling. That was the only disappointing thing with that selection. My friend ordered the reuben with a large fries. The sandwhich was like a reuben melt, because of that i was ok that rye bread was not used and it wasn't stacked with prime cut corn beef, instead pastrami is used and a russian dressing which gave it just a bit of a different taste. Again nothing wrong with the taste, just be prepared to not having that classic taste. The fries were cold and a bit under cooked but its hard to find good fries 😒. I would go again and try...
