Lalibela Restaurant — Restaurant in Whitehall

I am beyond pissed! I ordered food and I've told the gentleman who took my order to not put cheese in my food the white thing called ayib. He said ok. It was a to go order so something told me to double check it and there it was the cheese i didnt want so i told the female waitress that I can't have cheese and that I was lactose. She said take out the cheese and eat the rest.. I was like excuse me i really would get sick and that I needed her to place a new order. Almost an hour later I finally got my food, I opened the box and it looked fine. Went home and started eating and it felt like something was wrapped around my thoung. It was a long hair I couldn't believe it. Once I started to look through the food I found more hair. I started to feel sick just thinking about it. Next thing you know I was having difficulty breathing and didn't understand what was happening to me. That's when I saw cheese underneath the collard greens. I started to throw up. I am allergic to dairy products and told the waitress but she went and took out the cheese and put greens on top. I am very unhappy. This is not over. I just want people to be very careful when ordering from lalibela. Very unprofessional. You'll regret this...

My girlfriend and I just came in 30 mins ago. She got the veggie platter and I got fir fir to go.

First of all, we entered the restaurant and were greeted with genuine kindness and by a welcoming people.

I wanted dorowat, but vegetarian. They weren’t able to accomodate because they make the dorowat with chicken and it takes a while to cook. Instead, the lady I spoke to offered fir fir. I decided to try it and she added extra jalepeños without me knowing, because she got the vibe that I’d want it spicy from our convo. Excellent service! You just can’t get this style of service anywherre anymore, I love it!

The food ended up being amazing! Well spiced, endowed with flavour. They did NOT skimp out on the spices and flavour! And they gave such large portion, unlike anything I’ve seen anywhere else!

There is no way I’m ever eating anywhere else besides Lalibela’s ever again. I’ve been so dissapointed with restaurant food lately. Friday 12/10/2021 was the last time I will be giving this establishment anymore of my business. I've been coming here religiously 1-4 times a month the last 2.5 years. It's like clockwork almost every Friday. I order the same thing and pay the same amount. And almost every time the customer service is top notch. Until Friday evening. The young lady with the braces behind the bar. That by far was the worst interaction I've had to date with this restaurant and it was enough not to come back. I placed an order for pick up, showed up at the time she said it would be ready. Ignored me for a while, finally asked what I was there for, ignored me some more, tells me they made my meal wrong, bags my meal after a total of 1.25 hours from the time I called and placed the order. Then I get home and I didn't get all my order but was charged for it. Remember I come there like clockwork and get the same thing. She told she didn't charge me for anything extra and there wasn't nothing she could do. I called back several times to no avail. I'm done with this place. It only took this...
