The Old Bag of Nails — Restaurant in Whitehall

Waitress didn't come out to take and get us for at least 30 minutes. It was Wednesday all you can eat shrimp. We put in our order... And our drink order all at the same time. We had no napkins or utensils when good finally came 25 minutes later. We again put in our next order and had to ask for our fries and coleslaw that we're to come with the meal. Also no cocktail sauce was offered. Again waited 30 minutes between orders and got like 5 shrimp for 2 people. Huh? Really? I thought all you can eat was really all you can eat....? Asked to speak to a manager and explained the wait issued and the amount of good power serving and that or drinks were dry. We had not seen our waitress for a long time. She said she would take care of it. It waitress eventually came over with order of fried shrimp...a whole basket and got more drinks for us. I'm the meantime while she was there we ordered another round of blackened shrimp. Again we got 5 maybe 6 shrimp. Tell me why it was like pulling gold teeth to get any service and why when we did get service it was nil. The food was good for the most part but not always hot but the time it got to the table. Then when we got our bill we waited another 25 minutes and still the waitress did not come back for us to pay the tab. Felt like we were dissed. The service however was less than par. I might try again but if no improvements are made we will drive across town if need be to find another. Just very disappointed. Ok update Just went back this evening once again! First party of this review was last week. Thought we'd give it another try. 💯+% better! Thank you McKenzie! This girl is the bomb! She did a fantastic job of restoring our faith in this place! If you want a fantastic dinner on Wednesday all you can eat shrimp and if you want a great waitress go here and ask for McKenzie W....

The food was absolutely disgusting!! We ordered wings as an appetizer which was hard and tasteless. I ordered their famous fish sandwich which was not cooked all the way and the tater tots was hard as a rock. My husband ordered salmon and despite the grill marks it looked and tasted awful. We got several to-go boxes and paid the $58 bill which was not worth one cent of it. The next day I seasoned and warmed up the leftovers in the air fryer and it was no better so I ended up throwing it away. It's worth mentioning that the server was just as bad. We barely got to the table and didn't get to take our coats off before she asked us what we wanted to drink. Soon as she brought out our drinks she was rushing us to order and we barely had a chance to look over the menu. She wasn't friendly until she gave us the check because she wanted to be sure she got a good tip, we gave her $5. We are normally very generous tippers but this entire experience was the worst in a very long time, it was very disappointing, a complete waste of time and money. We will never go back which is unfortunate because we loved it when they were on...

Jasmine was our server on Fri. 5/26/23 at the Whitehall location. Excellent service!!! She has a beautiful smile, checked back to see how we were doing, did we need anything, asked how was the food, this was my first time going to " The Old Bag of Nails" the atmosphere is great, the food was great, I ordered the salmon, rice, clam chowder soup, my cousin ordered the Philly Cheese steak sandwich , my mom.ordered mushrooms they were great and the fish and shrimp plate. I also ordered a long Island iced tea which was very good. My mom ordered the sweet tea, she said it was good. The temperature and presentation of the food was great, I would like to give Jasmine a "Shout out again" because she will go places with her positive attitude, her enthusiasm, she understands the importance of great customer service!! She deserves employee of the month , a raise, etc. She is a great asset to your establishment!!! Employees like Jasmine is what every company needs to keep a company in business, she will allow your restaurant to have repeat customers...
