Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Whitehouse

A while back, I went to Whitehouse Sonic with my Bullard ISD teacher badge and asked for a 99 cent rt44 and they said, “No, we only do that for Whitehouse teachers, & you have to show your badge.” Fast forward about a year and a half later and I switch jobs, and I ask them “when can I get my badge? I can’t wait to go to Sonic!!” They said, “You have to wait for new teacher orientation.” So, I got to orientation last week, got my new badge and was so excited! The first break I got, I headed to Sonic. “I finally have a Whitehouse ISD badge! Can I have a rt44 99 cent drink now?”

“No, we don’t DO teacher discounts.”

I felt kinda betrayed, or misled. When I asked other teachers in Whitehouse about this, they said that it was hit & miss, mostly miss. Discount or no discount, consistency would be appreciated. BUT it’s a small thing—considering the real cost of fountain drinks—and, not asking that it be free, the gesture of a discount makes us teachers feel appreciated and more apt to bring...

I just went to the sonic in whitehouse and I ordered a burger with mustard, ketchup, and chili. I got home and the burger had only the meat. It was really disappointing considering I payed a good amount extra for the chili to be put on the burger. As well as this one of the workers came outside with a blank look on her face and just stood in front of our car staring at us before asking where “the guy” went. Obviously we had no idea what this meant but she looked very concerned. She continued to pace for a minute asking where he went but again we had no idea who she was looking for. Now I would have no problem helping her but I’m not getting payed hourly to look for “the guy” like she was. Instead I was too busy being distracted by the girl that brought out my food. She stumbled. Started reading my order. Stumbled again and then just stared at me until I finished what she was attempting to say. Really weird experience that lacked professionalism....

My first time to ever stop here after coming to Whitehouse for over 15 years to see family... If I could give 0 stars for quality. I would. I'd give 4 stars for the friendliness of person at microphone and carhop. But 0 stars for quality of the food we ordered. The chicken strips were burnt they were dark brown and even tasted burnt. The tater tots were a dark brown not golden brown and were so hard to eat that we hollered at a man that we thought was a manager that came out to deliver a drink to some one. Showed him the food told him our complaint and his response was this " that's the way they are supposed to be that's the way they come". No tater tots are not dark brown they are almost golden white when they are still frozen. We just threw everything away. Won't come...
