Just had my first experience in Mezeh with my family. The food was just OK. It's not authentic tasting. I'm Middle Eastern and know what authentic is. The shawarma is not shawarma at all, it's just chicken chunks, same as steak with not an ounce of shawarma seasoning on either. Tasted more like commercial grade, like I was ordering from Chipotle. The place reminded me of Cava, which was our first turn off. However, that's not what disappointed us. The service is the reason we will never go back. My family ordered and then it was my turn. The short young female that waited on me was very rude with me from the moment I started my order. I asked if they had more lettuce because what little there was in their container was wilted and brown romaine. She said no, yet I was ordering a salad bowl. I said you sure there's no lettuce, again she said no. So I stood there paused in confusion ready to abandon my order then she drops my bowl and went off angrily to the back behind the counters and got another deep bin of lettuce and said this is all we have. Which was a full bin of lettuce that was green and crisp. Asked me if I wanted that, i said yes, then she swapped the bins but slammed bin into the slot. There were two other customers behind me that witnessed it all. I even turned to them in shock and said she got upset because i asked for lettuce. They too looked at me in shock. She proceeded to make my order as I gave her my toppings. Then I requested pickled onions and she slammed the tongs in the bin when she saw there wasn't anything in the bin because now that required her to replace it. The other employee saw her and said something to her in what sounded like Spanish. The girl finished my order then rolled her eyes at me. All this stemmed from me asking for lettuce for my salad bowl. I then said to the cashier, she is very rude, she just rolled her eyes at me and she was very rude to me the whole time, she was slamming bins and the tongs. The cashier was very apologetic and even offered me baklava which I refused. We just wanted to eat and get out of there. The cashier did say something to her again, in her language and after that, the girl disappeared to the back and a gentleman came out. I'm really not sure why asking for lettuce for my salad bowl would have caused her so much anger, but because of her actions and unpleasant facial expressions, we will no longer eat here or recommend this place to anyone. The food wasn't enough for me to say I'd be missing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDear Mezeh, I wanted to extend my sincerest gratitude for the time travel experience your delivery service provided to me on 4.9.2023. Itās not every day that lunch arrives in a fashion that defies the very fabric of space-time, turning an estimated 88-minute wait into a leisurely 148-minute culinary odyssey. The anticipation built up during the wait was almost as warm as the food itself ā which is to say, not very. The temperature of the dishes upon arrival was a masterful culinary tightrope walk, somehow hovering in that exquisite zone between ājust thawedā and āroom temperatureā. A remarkable feat! And letās not overlook the silence ā the sheer lack of communication was deafening. The absence of a courtesy call added a thrilling element of mystery and surprise to the day. Will the food arrive? Wonāt it? Itās like living in a real-life suspense novel. But letās end on a high note: the food, despite its tepid temperature, was delicious. Itās a testament to your chefs that even when served at a temperature that would make a penguin shiver, the flavors still managed to shine through, igniting a fiery frustration that such culinary craftsmanship deserved better. In all seriousness, while the food was commendable, the delivery experience left much to be desired. Timeliness and communication are key ingredients in the recipe for customer satisfaction ā ingredients that were sorely missed today. Warm regards (warmer than the food, at least), Amanda Marie Barr P.S. i emailed this as feedback to your restaurant directly and was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI hate to be a negative Nancy, but yesterday my experience was a bit weird due to the particular server who made my bowl.
Long story short, I wanted to get the steak bowl. When it was my turn, there was very little left, so I assumed that the server would give me all that's left, or asked me to choose something else, or offered something else--whatever to make it fair/reasonable. Instead, she gave me half of the little that's left. So I ended up having five or six tiny pieces of steak (I circled them out in one of the photos for your reference).
I was so shocked and initially didn't say anything, until I saw how much chicken she gave the customer after me. Then I raised my concern. She said she gave me little because there's little left--what a reason! Anyway, she agreed to give me some chicken to mend the situation, which should have been offered to begin with.
Enough venting. But the store itself and food itself are very good. That's why I still rate it 4 stars. Compared to their location in the KOP Mall, this Cochy location is really nice as an individual store in...
