I was in Weis this evening with my family. When we arrived at the self check out, our onions rang up for a $1.00 more per pound. We asked the person standing at the front of the check out (Jess) to assist us. She walked over to our register and I explained to her that the onions rang up for $2.99 instead of a $1.99. She had a bad attitude and said very abruptly that she would have to check the price. Her tone was rude and disrespectful. I responded to her, “okay go check”. She stormed off as if we did something wrong. I decided not to say anything to her about her attitude because I was in the store with my family from out of town, who are here because our father is ill. When Jess came back to the register, she was quite frustrated, again none of us said anything. She said she needed to change the price (very angrily). She became very verbally disrespectful with my husband and my sister as she started to make demands around the onions, while we were all confused about her blatant disregard and disrespect to all of us, I said “you need to calm down”, she looked at me with venom in her eyes, then my sister said something to her, then Jess became enraged. At that point we asked her to get her manager. She stormed off with her arms waiving and head shaking, she stopped to tell her coworkers about us and wanted us to see her acting out. She went and got Mike, the manager and’s acted the same way with him as she did with her coworker, she came back with Mike and he approached us with her right by his side. We explained to him our experience over onions (seemed like a minor mistake that we did not make). He was also rude and said we were the first people with a complaint about Jess out of 7000 people. We were astonished at the disrespect and abuse we were enduring and we decided to leave without any of our items. As we walked away quietly Jess screamed out “have a nice night” as she laughed. There were other shoppers and it was such a disgraceful and pathetic situation. All we wanted was help with our onions. We have been shopping at Weis for years and years, even before being in Conshohocken. We will never shop at Weis again. We are established people, who all built successful businesses being in sales with all of us totaling over 70+ years in sales. I have never been attacked and disrespected trying to get support with an issue that was an entry issue on the part of Weis and not us. We are all beside ourselves and still in disbelief that Jess felt compelled to treat us like trash and then Mike followed and...
Read moreI visited this store today expecting a quick shopping trip, but instead encountered extremely unprofessional behavior from the staff. When I approached the billing counter with my items, the cashier was engaged in a lengthy personal conversation with another employee, completely ignoring waiting customers. After standing patiently for several minutes while my sons waited in the car outside, I politely asked if they could process my purchase so I could leave. Instead of apologizing for the delay, the second employee rudely told me to “go to another store if I’m in a hurry” and criticized me for interrupting their conversation. When I asked to speak with a manager about this inappropriate treatment, I was told that the rude employee WAS the manager. This made the situation even more concerning, as management should set an example of professional customer service, not demonstrate how to alienate paying customers. The complete lack of basic courtesy and professionalism was shocking. Customers shouldn’t have to wait indefinitely while staff chat, nor should they be told to shop elsewhere when they politely request service. This kind of attitude suggests serious training issues and poor management standards. I won’t be returning to this location and would advise others to expect subpar service if they choose to shop here. A business that treats customers as an inconvenience rather than the reason they exist clearly doesn’t deserve...
Read moreI went to this store today to get a few things they had out of stock at Giant. When I got to self checkout I tried to scan grapes. It said I needed assistance and to keep scanning. So I kept scanning and waited. A man finally came to help me, scanned his card and walked away so I was like okay and figured out how to lookup the grapes and then they were weighed. When I tried to checkout the machine said I still needed assistance. So I turned to look for the man and he just looked at me smirked and said are you going to let me help you now? I apologized and said I was unaware I did not allow him to help me before. He then stomped over scanned his card and angrily slammed the buttons on the self checkout. I am 100% always on the side of workers in grocery stores my sister used to manage one I understand how hard it is. I would never intentionally make someone else's day hard on purpose. This man was nasty and rude. I turned to him told him he could put the groceries away and that I was leaving without them. I have never in my life stormed out of a store this way but no one has never treated me this way, I'm a kind patient customer. I promise. This man was nasty. I will never go back after being treated that way. Absolute disrespect is not...
