Showed up around 12noon waited in a crowded line with my wife and 7 year old son. We signed in and could see available seats for us to sit but we waited patiently in line. A party of 2 just walks in asks the host how long the wait is and the host seated them immediately and we continued to wait until we we're seated at the available seats we originally spotted. We all ordered Menudo but noticed people around us getting their food before us and they were seated after us. We sat right by the kitchen and noticed 2 bowls of menudo go out but not ours. My wife finally complained and all they could say was "sorry, It's not my fault". We spoke to the manager who responded the same. I complained about people getting seated before us and getting their food before us but she didn't care. I asked for a bowl of menudo to be compensated but she said no. Then I asked for a discount on the check but she still couldn't do that for us. Food is great. Terrible...
Read moreThis looks like a family owned restaurant in Uptown, Whittier. Because it's a family-operated restaurant, service tends to be a bit slower. Not place was not that full when I came (around 9:30AM), and it took a long time before someone came over to service me.
They had three specials going on when I went. I got the Ham Steak and Eggs with Hash Browns and Toast for $6.99. I also got a coffee for $1.99. Food was cheap, that's for sure. The potatoes they used for the hash browns were fresh, since I can still taste some of it in the middle of the hash brown. The toast was okay. Even though I said white bread, the bread didn't seem like it was completely white.
They also have Mexican food here too, which I didn't get a chance to try. I will come back again to try their Mexican food when I...
Read moreMy Husband and I and my Daughter-in-law plus 3 grandkiddos. Ate at Greenleaf Cafe in Whittier. My D-in-law had a plate of Chile Relleno, and enchilada, rice and beans. I had mole cheese enchiladas w/rice and beans. My husband had an enchilada with a hard shell beef taco rice and beans. My grandson had chicken fingers and fries. My granddaughter had a soft taco of carne asada rice and beans. My third grandson is too young to eat solid foods. 😉. We all agreed that the food was delicious, large portions. Even for the kiddos. The mole enchiladas were fantastic! Even better than mine and I love mine! Reason for the 4 stars not 5 was the price, a bit over $100. Great food, just the price. But I guess it's gone...
