So the food was good, but not out of this world. I had the Ensenada Omlette. It was good, but the price was a more then what the portion served. This place is really about being different, so I took that into consideration. The meal came with a decent but small salad and half a small bake potato. FYI, on the menu it list a bake potato, so I assumed the whole potato? Like outback..lol These 2 sides seem odd for breakfast/brunch meal. My meal qas $19. The omlette was really good but small in size and its filling. We also ordered the journey to share, which was 2 pancakes served with a strawberry type syrup. Now this has a great presentation and delivery as they add the syrup in a very unique way at your table. NOTE: Make sure to ask for more syrup as what is served initially will nit be enough. With that said, this was very tasty and like I said, it is something people are attracted to because of the presentation.
Service was an A plus. Our server was on top of our needs and very receptive. Always smiling and happy. They hit this part of the business right on the spot.
Environment, I am still on the fence in this area. The place still has some of it old looks. Paint and neon sign can only do so much. It's not bad but for the prices I would expect more, once again...just my opinion. They could have spend a little more and really have a great atmosphere (for example Rokka, just a few doors down). It still has a Cafe feel. Typical chairs and table. A little tight for what you are paying.
In the end, 3 people (only 1 had coffee, me and the other person had water) eating with the extra dish $100, tip included. I tipped 20%.
Final thoughts: I am not 100% sold. I know they have were and have been super busy. But I am not sold that this will be long lasting unless they make some changes along the way. I see them more as a social media fad. This is my honest opinion. It's really hard to build a clientele on those prices.
Oh and the music videos on the TV, were more of a distraction. I love that the owner was trying a new idea and concept. But they need to look at making some changes and feedback to be a total success.
I hope my honesty helps people. Please always try it for yourself as my taste may not be...
Read moreCame to this place to celebrate my eldest sons BDay, just small party of six. All the party didn’t arrive right away however, we advised the hostess. More than a 1/2 hour wait which was okay but then when we were finally called in they had set up tables for just 5. We were asked to wait again, supposedly a couple of minutes, wrong took another 20 minutes. Finally get called in and seated. Again had to wait about 7-10 minutes for a waiter, finally guy shows up ask if we want anything to start with we all said waters, a Michelada, coke some latte’s and a house coffee. Again the wait, finally brought waters, no straws, the Michelada and we wait. After another 10 minutes starts bringing out the latte’s and the house coffee, forget to bring a spoon for coffee. I put in creamer and finally flagged down a waitress and asked for a spoon, she brought it right away, apologized and said oh we need straws for the waters. She brought 2 straws and I say, there six waters… she went and gathered more straws. Our wait for the order was about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. Finally dude come to take orders, all good right?! NO, again wait for our plates to come is another 45 minutes. When he finally comes with food, it was one plate at a time, about 5-7 minutes between plates . After about another 30 minutes everyone had their plates served. Had to ask for extra napkins, asked for a regular coffee refill got it right away. The food was delicious really super good, the service sucked!!! I mean sucked bad… we get the bill they automatically add a 22% tip for parties 6 or more, which came out to 33 bucks, so sad…. Then today I happened to still have the receipt in my pocket, I look at it and realize, dude charged me another $4.50 for my regular coffee refill, like a half a cup. Really sad that although their food was great they suck at service. Will never go by this place again or recommend to anyone. Stay away from here they get you right where it hurts your time and wallet!! They take your tip , I honestly would of given a 5.00 at most...
Read moreAmazing service provided by Cari, she was so attentive & she had the best recommendations. Based on her recommendations, we tried the Special Coffee Flight with Oatmilk, Americano, Pastor Omelette, Chilaquiles Verdes with Chicken, and Nutella French Toast.
We will start with the Special Coffee Flight which consisted of 4 sweet drinks: Mazapán iced coffee, Horchata iced coffee, Pistachio iced coffee and Abuelita iced coffee. The Mazapán iced coffee was a little textured for me since it had chunks of Mazapán in it and I wasn’t a fan. The Horchata iced coffee was satisfying & I loved it. It was the right amount of bittersweet. The Pistachio iced coffee was way too sweet & had only a touch of pistachio. The Abuelita iced coffee was on the bitter side since it tasted like straight cocoa. Americano was a simple brew.
Pastor Omelette was delicious and super filling. It was packed with meat & had the right red salsa to compliment it. Chilaquiles Verdes were also delicious but not spicy. You definitely need to order more salsa on the side if you want them on the wet side however the chicken was a perfect addition. Nutella French Toast was top tier!! It was the star of the show although it was sweet.. the fried plantains took it to another level. The slices were huge and easily shareable amongst 2 people.
Overall listen to your servers, Thank you Cari for the amazing suggestions & letting us know that this establishment is known for appealing to the sweet tooth. Next time I will ask for an Americano or espresso since I enjoy my heavy coffee flavored drinks. I will definitely be returning to this location or another as they are so welcoming & keep you updated with their wait time. You could wait 45 mins to be seated so join the waitlist in advanced through the Yelp app. Also once seated they will bring your food as quickly...
