After walking around to see what was offered throughout this place, we ordered some bowls of chicken and noodles, crab and rice, as well as chicken with no sauce. We ordered a side of sticky rice since everything is basically separate. They do inform you of the levels of spicy and someone ordered a level “3” ands said it was pretty spicy. We also ordered subs drinks that come in bear containers which is pretty cute; however, they don’t have ice which was disappointing because the drink gets warm from holding or just from the warm environment. They also didn’t have straws so we got some from another eatery. The food was delicious and fresh but I took a star of for no ice for our drinks. Also it’s pretty expensive and we spent over $100 for four people.

Thai inspired rice and/or noodle bowls that are impressive in terms of quantity and freshness. I ordered the krapow bowl with the BBQ pork, medium spicy, with noodles instead of rice (+$2). The pork had a very nice grilled char to them and the spiciness level was no joke, which I enjoyed. I will dock one star for the noodles, which were a bit too soft, and the pineapple agua fresca which my wife and I both thought tasted too syrupy and sweet (not refreshing). But these are minor quibbles for an otherwise excellent addition to the Whittier dining scene.

I must admit, I was a bit skeptical about the price of their fried rice and shrimp plate, which came in at $22. However, I decided to give it a try, as I was genuinely eager to experience their culinary offerings. Unfortunately, my expectations were met with a significant letdown. The rice lacked any discernible flavor, almost tasting like oil. If I were seeking a less flavorful rice dish, I would have opted for Panda Express instead.

I left Thailand and arrived in Manhattan on June 5th. On the 20th, I arrived in LA. As soon as I got off the plane at LAX Airport, I went straight to Kra-Pow at Whittier at Rodeo 72 (there is another branch at Stanton at Rodeo 39) because I missed the delicious, spicy Thai food that I had eaten there a few months ago. This time, I invited 16 friends and relatives to come with me. I ordered 16 dishes and we ate them together like a buffet. This allowed me to eat a variety of dishes. I was not disappointed at all because every dish at Kra-Pow was as delicious and spicy as in Thailand. Or if I may say that many dishes cannot be found in Thailand. I would like to recommend that those who love spicy, authentic Thai food should find time to try it. My friends that I invited to eat there that evening all said that the food was very delicious and they will definitely become regular...

so happy Kra-Pow is back! Ordered the basil fried rice (w/ skirt steak), Pad Thai(w/ skirt steak), pad see ew(tofu), basil fried rice (pork), and pad kee mao(chicken)! Ate a little bit of everything fresh then took the rest of the food home( to the bay area) and enjoyed it nearly 7hrs later. The food was still soooo good! By far the best Thai food we’ve had! Level 2 spiciness was perfect for me and my husband enjoys the level 5! The pad see ew is usually my favorite dish when I eat Thai food but this Pad Thai may be the new front runner! The wok hay of alll the dishes is what sets this place apart! can’t wait til our next trip to So Cal to...
