Location: 12548 Washington Blvd, Suite 108, Whittier, CA 90602
While attempting to pay for my order with the new California EBT RFID chip card, the server requested both my card and PIN.
I expressed that I was not comfortable providing this information.
She then stated that it was a new policy required for the updated RFID chip EBT cards, explaining that customers must change their PIN or lock their card after every transaction.
I asked if this directive came from her employer, to which she responded that she was "just doing her job."
When I requested the store number, she wrote it down for me.
After sitting down in the restaurant, I noticed that she made a phone call behind the counter.
She then asked if I wanted to speak with her employer, which I declined.
She also offered to have her employer call me, which I also declined.
I find this situation highly unusual and, frankly, suspicious.

Dear Christopher Kaneff,
I want to take a moment to thank you for contacting me and to extend my apologies for the less than ideal experience that you had in my restaurant.
We have had recent bad experiences at the same location where a customer ended up taking the EBT machine twice. We had to file a police complaint and have to buy new machine and pay for it again. We loose business as we have to wait for the machine to be delivered and then installation. Furthermore, when these bad guys take the machine they steal all the customer information and our bank deposits. This has been going on a lot recently. We had instructed our staff to be vigilant as we take customer information very seriously. Again my apologies that my staff didn’t understand our guidelines and asked for the PIN. Rest assured we are here to provide the best service possible and we did like to earn your business back.
I am always looking for ways to improve the restaurant experience for my customers, so I shared your feedback with my team to prevent this from happening in the future.

Quite frankly, your email and it's contents do not sound accurate or reasonable to me.

Read moreI used to love this place, years ago when my kids were little. It offered the same food but the customer service made a big difference. The guys behind the counter (2 brothers) were always in a good mood, making jokes, smiling, they remember your name, and even knew what you ordered the last time. It felt kind of like as if the owners themselves were serving you and it wasn't a chain restaurant anymore. We used to come every Tuesday, after school, eat, do some homework and take off to the movies. We came back today after a couple of years because of Covid. They've remodeled the place. They painted the walls, bought new signs, and added more tables and chairs. Now, the staff is average, the food could be fresher, they can sit 24 people but they've turned the only bathroom into an "employee only" one. Can you believe that? I chose this Subway in the first place because it had a bathroom. How can potentially 24 people eat comfortably without a bathroom? This store just turned into a street vendor with a roof and A/C. Don't you think if you want to call yourself a restaurant, you should have at least a bathroom available? Because otherwise, you can have a lunch truck and be done...
Read moreI came here 3 times and every time I had to wait until the girl finishes her stuff and there's always something wrong with the coupons or promotions smh the first time the girl didn't honored the coupon I paid full price and to honestly quality was bad, the second time I asked her about the coupon to make sure I get the right item and she was offering something else saying that the coupon was no valid for that item even was advertised in the coupon I ended up going different locations and they honored my coupon today I stop by because i saw the sign 3 footlongs for $20 and it say ANY sandwich and when I ask the girl said that it was ONLY for tuna sandwich, turkey, and another one and she was very rude and always been the same girl that gives me a hard time definitely not going back to...
