Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Wichita Falls

Im not from Texas but I visit quite a bit, and I've eaten at this particular Applebees in the past. The times before werent 5 stars but they weren't 2 either. The staff is usually on point and quick to bring you the things you might request (ie; extra silverware, napkins, hot sauce etc...) this time not so much. We had to wait more than 15min for everything and about 45min for our food. The waitresses, while she was very friendly, she was also very neglectful of her tables needs. The food runners did more to serve us and bring us requested items, than our waitresses. The food runner (he was the big guy) was super nice and certainly made up for our real waitresses lackadaisical attitude. As for the food, meh... I could take it or peace it, and leave it was what I chose. I ordered the same meal the last time i visited and it was very good this time, my steal was all over the place. I ordered rare and i recieved everything from well done and grey, to raw. The meal was supposed to come on a large bed of rice. Yes, there was rice on my plate, but not enough to even feed a toddler. The steak was flavorless, chewy and just tasted old. Another person at the table ordered a steak dish also, which came with your choice of 2 sides. Well the waitress never asked him what sides he wanted, she also never came back to our table, before the food came out, so he could fix the order. When the, overcooked steak ( was supposed to be med rare but was med well) he received 2 sides our waitresses had gone ahead an selected for him, rather than just come ask him what he wanted. She chose French fries and potatoes. When he finally was able to say something to her about it, he asked if he could have a side of green beans, she said yes but her attitude was very clear. When we recieved our check, she had charged him for the green beans, something i think they should have comped but they would not. All in all, had this been my first experience, I would probably never go back but knowing that ive also had great times there in the past, im sure I'll give it another chance and hope that the poor food and service was...

I usually enjoy Applebees, but it seems like here lately its for the birds. Lastnight just really sucked. When i go to a resturant i expect my waitress/waiter to have an upkept appearance, like they enjoy coming to work. My waitress looked like she had just woken up and threw herself together, just a frumpy appearance. Thru out my dining experience, she would forget to bring us refills, but made it a point to pass by the booth and ask what we were drinking, like she was gonna bring us a refill. I had the chicken oriental salad and it was delicious but it had alot of brown stemy old pieces of lettuce in it. The table was sticky. It wasnt too busy as most friday nights. It is a family orientated resturant, but around 1130pm i didnt expect too many children. I was surprised to say the least, w their presence and lack of resturant etiquette. The kids were running back and forth from the restroom, yelling across the resturant, food fighting and their table manners were even worse. But what really got me was that everybody seemed to act like this was normal. The waitress didnt really check up on us and followed thru with refills and we had to get another waitress to bring us our check bc my waitress was across the resturant laughing, chopping it up between her co workers and her phone. It was like sge really didnt care about her tables. It took us a while to get our check but it was even longer getting her to cash us out. They are usually one of the few resturants that are open that late and almost always have rockin good deals. Its a place to grab a bite, sum quick beers and watch the games. Their variety of food is great. I dont drink but their drinks look appetizing. Lastnight the atmosphere was just BLAH!! Every other time ive bn there its bn on and popping, to the point where yiuve bn there fir hours and u dont wanna go. But like i said, it feels like to me that its just going down hill. Went to Wichita Falls Applebees. Worst service I have had since I could remember. No greeted. When finally taken to a table, we were sat at a DIRTY table. Our waiter came and I asked to be moved to a different table. As I walked by four other tables that were dirty. He proceeded to sit us at a dirty table where you could clearly see the crumbs and watermarks from the previous guest. I told him that one was dirty as well. He went and got spray and a bunch of napkins to wipe it off. We ordered our 2 for $25 Our Spinach Dip portion size was quite small and the soufflé cup of salsa. After, not getting Appetizer plates I got Lane’s ( Our waiter ) attention an asked for plates and another salsa. Our chicken tenders and lime fiesta chicken came out. My granddaughter asked for Ranch. He didn’t return. Once I seen he had been hanging out at the bar talking, watching tv, looking out the window…. I got his attention again. RANCH PLEASE. I order the chicken fiesta all the time. Swear, it’s my favorite. Yet, this time is wasn’t what I expected. At this point I wasn’t sure if it was the food, or my stomach turned from the poor quality of service. Once I got home and reviewing the bill.
