I've been to cheddars 4 times in my life. The first two times was a few years ago, and it was pretty good. These passed few times 2 times, I've been with my wife and taking her there for the first time have been bad.
Well this night 1/16/24 it was a bad. The food was half burnt/over cooked and the rest fine. Quit honestly felt like two cooks were working on multiple parts of the dish. One who didn't care and the other that did. We got the trio sampler. The chicken was cooked perfect and tasted well. So did the spinach and salsa. Tho, idk much about their queso. But it was cold when we got it. If its served like that. Then ok, but if it was suppose to be hot. Someone missed the mark. It was still good even cold tho. So that wasnt to big of a deal.
I got a Monte Cristo and fries. The sandwich was burnt in the fryer on 1 sandwich and the other sandwich was fine. And the fries were a mix of burnt and non-burnt fries. My wife had a full rack of ribs with just fries. Her fries looked really good. And the ribs too. The first half rack was nice and a bit charred, but she likes that. So it was fine. But when she was getting into the other rack. We noticed a orange sauce in the middle of the ribs in the meat and she tried it. Her mouth was on fire, so I tried it and it tasted like either hot sauce or a Buffalo sauce. Which the ribs done come that way?? So why was our mouths on fire from these ribs?? Plus that one was cooked to hell. Dry as a bone. The waiter was nice enough to make the order a half rack because of it.
Our waiter was nice and friendly. Quit honestly the only good part about this place, is the wait staff. They are always nice. Even a few of my friends use to work there. I don't know what's going on in the kitchen. But unless we just feel like giving a 3rd chance. I can't see us going back. The first time me and my wife were there. We chalked it up to it being busy as to why our food was under cooked and order wrong. But this was DEAD around 8pm tonight. So there shouldn't have been any rush...
Read moreAfter visiting Cheddars in Nebraska and Kansas City, I already knew Cheddars was a good restaurant. After visiting this location though, I realize all are not equal.
My friend and I visited on a Saturday afternoon, the two of us were seated at an awkwardly extra large table meant to parties of eight. This booth was also by the entrance and exit to the kitchen, so we were able to see staff enter and exit. The staff was more into flirting and horseplay than paying attention to their customers, and didn't care that they were doing this on the dining room floor.
Out waiters came and were ordered the spinach and queso dip. This came out cold and rubbery. I ordered the ribeye medium rare, and it was inconsistently cook, almost to a well done to overdone. The broccoli cheese casserole side was cole and looked disgusting, and had no flavor, salt and pepper could not save this dish.
As we ate our so-called meal the wait staff filtered in and out of booths around us to count their tips, and gab on and on loudly with one another. Another waitress sat in one of the awkwardly long booths and decided to lay down with her body stretched across the length of the seat. Another waitress came out of the kitchen with a plate full of fries and sat at the booth the girl was laying in. Then the vultures came out, it what was a would be precession. They stopped one by one to grab some fries and stuff them in their faces, and walked off while eating their take.
The men's restroom was dirty and smelled bad. It was also was in disrepair, towel dispensers were falling off the wall, and the sink didn't work. As I exited the bathroom, the door slammed so hard behind me that I nearly had to return to the bathroom, for fear I had an accident in my pants. :)
I never saw a manager, and it's clear that a manager is what this place is lacking (that and good waiters and cooks).
I would recommend leaving if your first impression...
Read moreBeautiful and inviting atmosphere with reasonable prices! I visited Cheddar's with 7 coworkers on a Friday afternoon at 1:30 pm after a very long and tiring work week. We sat in the bar area at two high-top tables. The restaurant was very quiet when we arrived since it was just after the lunch rush. We were there for appetizers and mixed drinks, ordering what seemed like one of every appetizer on their menu. The food came out very fresh and timely. Our waiter was very attentive and patient with our large group ordering and follow up requests. The alcoholic drink menu is somewhat limited at Cheddar's because they don't have a full bar, but their signature drinks are too notch! Being a group of coworkers at a high stress job, we don't get to visit with each other on a personal level much if any. This visit to Cheddar's was to be our Christmas party. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for service is because I guess we outstayed our welcome. We had only had one drink each, so I know that none of us were too tipsy, but the waiter began coming over and trying to cash us out before we had even finished our food and drinks. We had been there for about an hour or just over. The restaurant was still quiet as it wasn't dinner service yet, so I'm not sure what the problem was. Next, the manager came over and began thanking us for coming in a way as if it was obvious he was ready for us to leave. When he did it a second time, we finally decided to go. I would like management and the owners to know that you lost out on a large amount of sales that day and made us very uncomfortable. When we left we just went a couple of doors down to your competition and continued our Christmas party where we were welcomed and "stayed" until we were...
