When it comes to breakfast, Cracker Barrel aims to deliver that classic, comforting, Southern-style experience, and their pancakes are a cornerstone of that. If you're wondering how good the pancakes are at the Cracker Barrel in Wichita Falls, Texas, here's a general review based on common experiences with the chain's offerings: Cracker Barrel Pancakes: A Taste of Comfort Cracker Barrel's pancakes are often lauded for their consistent quality and ability to evoke a sense of home-style cooking. Here's what you can generally expect: Fluffy Texture: Cracker Barrel's buttermilk pancakes are typically well-regarded for being light and fluffy, with a tender crumb that isn't too dense. They strike a good balance, avoiding the thin, crepe-like consistency some places serve, or the overly heavy, doughy texture of others. Golden Brown Perfection: Cooked to a beautiful golden brown on the griddle, they often have slightly crispy edges, adding a pleasing textural contrast to the soft interior. Classic Buttermilk Flavor: The flavor is a classic buttermilk pancake profile – a subtle tang from the buttermilk, a hint of sweetness, and a comforting familiarity that many people associate with a good breakfast. Accompaniments: What truly elevates the Cracker Barrel pancake experience are the classic accompaniments. They are typically served with whipped butter and, importantly, their 100% Pure Natural Syrup. This syrup is a fan favorite, providing a rich, authentic maple flavor that pairs perfectly with the pancakes. Variety of Toppings: Beyond the classic buttermilk, Cracker Barrel often offers variations like blueberry, pecan, and seasonal specials (like strawberry or even Oreo-stuffed cheesecake pancakes) allowing for some customization based on your preferences. These additions are usually generously incorporated, adding extra flavor and texture. Overall Impression: For many, the pancakes at Cracker Barrel, including the location in Wichita Falls, are a reliable and satisfying choice. They aren't trying to reinvent the wheel; instead, they focus on executing a beloved breakfast staple well. If you're looking for a consistently good, comforting stack of pancakes that tastes like it came from a country kitchen, Cracker Barrel generally delivers. They provide a hearty and enjoyable start to the day, especially when paired with their other breakfast sides like bacon, sausage, or...

The overall service was great even though our waitress was fairly new she offered suggestions and even state she cuts up her chicken and puts in her MAC and Cheese. We arrived around 3:45pm for an early dinner the waitress was quick at getting our drinks and then taking our food order. Dad ordered the meatloaf lunch special with mash potatoes ( I don't remember his second side ). Mom order the Southern Fried Chicken with okra and mashed potatoes. I order Mac and cheese and the steak fries and the chicken fried chicken Unfortunately both my chicken fried chicken and Mom's chicken didn't taste like they should Mom thinks the oil was old and needed to be changed. I removed the flower basing the use thinking that would resolve the rotten taste I was getting. But after just eating two bits was making me nauseated. The sides were great. As any good waitress does she came by to see how everything was Dad said his was fine. I apologized that I didn't like the taste I thought it tasted like old rotten chicken as if it was sitting out too long, Mom told her it smelled like it was cooked in old oil and ask her to smell it she did made a funny face and apologized and offered us something else. We both declined and told us she wouldn't charge and will tell her manager A few minutes later the manager come out apologized and again offered a replacement we again declined she then offered for us to take a meal for later she insisted so we took a Togo order mom ordered the meatloaf okra ( of course) and Mac and cheese I just ordered a simple cheese burger (didn't know they were going to add fries with it Thank You ) As with many places right now being short staffed and having new people and knowing we've eaten there many times before I personally want to thank our waitress and the manager for their professionalism in handling this situation and treating us with empty and understanding. I know since we never had an issue with them in the many years we've been going there since they opened We Will Be Back I'm just hoping the issues is the oil used to fry the chicken since another guest had the same issue with her chicken And changing the oil before the dinner rush ( if that's possible ) so other's won't go through this and ruin their good reputation We'll let you know in a few weeks...

We were treated very rudely by our waitress not the other Coworkers. He served everybody else but us served our drinks but we Never got to even order our food nevertheless to receive it. I'm working on it and He keep on walking. people came in and they got their food and everything and we were still sitting there waiting to give our order to even make our order I was very 😡 When we got ready to leave we went to go and pay for our drinks that we had received and then another CO worker came up Behind us in line. And heard us commenting on Won't how the services and how the waitresses treated us On how the services and how the waitresses treated us. How upset we were and she asks us what was going on and I said what happened and then she said that we didn't have to pay for our drinks I said are you sure she said yes. The cashier and other customers were listening in the conversation as well. My first time at Cracker Barrel as my husband just got deployed back to the states. We had my inlaws visiting from minesotta for the 4th of July so was a busy time so we choose this place to have a big family lunch. We got in was 8 of us and we shopped a bit before we were called to our table. As it was a big group we had 2 servers. The server on the right wasn't very friendly at all kept rushing us to order and ask my husband whose nearly 50 for ID, I didn't have my passport on me as I don't walk around with my passport but had a copy of passport and British drivers licence on my documents wallet on my phone and she wouldn't accept it. So I got a fruit drink as didn't want to make a fuss, she kept asking what we wanted and just kept rushing us and I felt so pressured as I wanted to go through the menu as I knew none of the food on it. Anyways we all ordered, the good came and it was very delicious but we hated being rushed to order and they missed out on quite a bit of business it made an atmosphere and everyone just wanted to leave, plus because of how I was spoken to my in laws decided not to order a drink or desserts. I'm not a complainer but customers pay staffs wages and the way you treat a customer and speak to them will determine if they return or if they recommend anyone. A group of 8 with this experience left a bad experience for us which wasn't great. I also felt like because I'm British she spoke to me standoffish compared to my husband and inlaws who are American. Not a great experience at all. But I will say the food was great and the other server was also great.

This was my very first time actually dinning in a cracker barrel in my life...the store was cute, and clean.upon arrival we were 1 out of maybe 8 tables seated in the entire dining room. Our server was nice.the food took a long time to come out...we ordered pancakes and sausage and french toast with turkey sausage and eggs.By presentation the food seemed great! My pancakes and sausage were delicious. Meanwhile my friend was not so lucky with the French toast, egg and turkey sausage. He simply stated the eggs were UNDER cooked and the toast was too hard. We brought THE UNDERCOOKED egg to our servers attention, she quickly apologized and told us she would bring him some more eggs. Our server returned minutes later and told us that she had more eggs coming and requested that he put the UNDER COOKED eggs on a separate plate that she gave him.He did wat she requested and our server came back to the table collected the UNDERCOOKED eggs and took them back in the kitchen... MINUTES later she came back with and order of eggs that were at least scrambled well this time...needless to say my friend tasted the eggs and he was certain that the eggs were the same and still improperly cooked! By that time his french toast was so hard that if u threw it,it could have served as a mini frezzby. It was not a nice experience at all however it was Sunday morning and we just decided to grit it and bare.we will not be coming back.

This is your standard cracker barrel experience. Impossible to get higher than 3 stars, but more often than not, not so terrible to get anything less. My waitress was not really attentive, and didn't check on us enough (only a party of 2. I noticed she paid a lot more attention and was more friendly to her other table with at least 4 people). The food took about 35 minutes to arrive after we ordered. The prices, as always, were astronomical. 2 eggs, small piece of bacon, small disc of sausage, and small piece of ham = $10. I asked for a side of pancakes - was told it would be "regular price of $4+ ". For two pancakes.. You pay what would cost for a whole box of pancake mix. And then have some leftover. This is of course not including the "worse than military" coffee, for $3.50. Honestly, it would have been better from the DQ down the street. Total of about $15 a person, for food that felt like we were just taking small, sampling bites. Shrink-flation type of thing. Will not be coming back.
